REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Well I wasn't believing in Denver beforehand, but I am starting to now. AFC is insane this season. Playoffs are gonna be awesome.
 
I just don't get what the Niners are trying to accomplish. They sucked for years. Then they go and get Harbaugh and almost win the Super Bowl. They get rid of Harbaugh and go back to the EXACT same schtick that caused them to suck for years. It bottles my mind.

Yeah roster turnover, blah blah blah. This isn't a 4-12 team based on the roster. These guys could go 8-8 with some decent coaching. Both coordinators are garbage. The head coach has no idea what he's doing. Every play is within a couple yards of the line of scrimmage. Kap has been exposed as a guy who needs the players around him to make him better, rather than making the guys around him better like real QB's do. It's just bad all around. I expect another 5-6 years of sucktitude until they get lucky with a QB or pull their heads out of their asses.

It's all on Jed York at this point. Nothing will change because he's making money and that's all he cares about. The only thing there is to fix this franchise is a new owner and that's not happening.
 
Ben Watson has more receiving yards and TD's than Jimmy Graham half way through the season. I hope Jimmy gives Brees some of that money from that fat contract for making his ass famous.

I don't think it was ALL Brees bud. The guy is crazy talented, but they don't run the same scheme. Watson has always been a really good player, that never had the looks. Does everything well.

"consider yourself sucked" as bill parcells once said. i mainly think anyone who believes another player would say that while a guy is lying knocked out on the field is just a moron to begin with, and then I remember who the people are who eat this stuff up.

So if Graham was drafted by Seattle instead how would he be viewed right now? A good TE? Sure, but not an elite player that deserves WR franchise tag money. JG needs Brees more than Brees needs JG. Even a receiver off the Browns practice squad is on pace for 1000 yards receiving with Breesus throwing the ball.
 
Dez didn't need to go on the tirade he did (probably the losing streak had something to do with it).

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Seahawks Bruce Irvin has backed up Dez's claim, saying he indeed was talking to the official and not trash talking Lockette.
 
Lol at Dez saying he was trying to break something up. Like a fight or altercation. He's always been the peacemaker.

Yeah, he needs to sit for a while. So much of playing QB in the NFL is based on the QB's brain, vision, thinking and progression processes, and just basically his confidence in himself and others confidence in him. I think both Kaep and RGIII still have the ability to be successful NFL QBs but right now that just isn't possible because of the things I just mentioned. I just figure it'll take going to a new team for either/both of them to be able to "start fresh" and have that chance.

On another front, I'm actually proud of how the Cowboys have played the past 2 weeks, even though the end result was not good. They're actually playing to win now rather than playing not to lose which is what they were doing when Weeden was the QB. I still can't believe I haven't seen anything here about the horrible call Sunday where the Seahags had 12 men on the field AND called a timeout when they could not do so legally and the refs let them walk on both counts. I really don't think it changed who would eventually win the game since the Hags are clearly better than the Cowboys right now, but the zebras are just terrible these days. Or is it just me?

At this point in time there is no other choice. While he isn't 100 percent at fault here, he isn't helping at all. This team needs too many holes patched in order to be anything but a laughing stock. I have said for years it starts at the top with Jed York.
 
Titans fire the Whizinator after only 23 games. This team really lacks talent, so it isn't all his fault. But he's supposed to be an offensive guru, yet the offense has been anemic the entire time he has been here. We have enough weapons on offense to be much better than we've shown. With Mariota the future at QB, I would guess Chip Kelly will be the next hire if the Eagles can him.

And Kelly's brilliant plan of making the Eagles suck big dick by trading or cutting their best players so he can go and coach Mariotta works!
