REAL FOOTBALL Thread

By the way, as if there was ever any confusion before this year, it can comfortably be said that Stafford has had a better career than Matt Ryan.

Maye was nowhere near as good of a regular season QB as Stafford. What in the hell were you watching? Not only did Stafford have significantly better raw stats, but he also played a much tougher schedule. The Patriots regular season schedule was historically easy. Their combined opponent winning percentage was .391.

Maye got absolutely exposed in the playoffs. He did not have a good post-season at all. Super mediocre vs the Chargers and Texans. I won't count Denver against him since they played in a blizzard, but it's pretty sad that Jarrett Stidham had a better line than him despite not throwing an NFL pass in over 2 years. And then the Seahawks made him look worse than Tim Tebow as a QB. I mean dude had 60 total passing yards through 3 quarters in near perfect weather conditions.

Stafford was the correct MVP choice. And no, CMC should not have been MVP.
Maye had a much higher EPA/Play and CPOE. HE was very good. Yes he played a cakewalk schedule but he also had much worse weapons. Stafford got to play behind a better OL, he got to throw to a future hall of famer who's still good (Adams) he got to throw to a top 4 receiver in the NFL. I would expect his stats to be better than Maye who was throwing to the ghost of Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins behind a bottom 10 OL in pressure rate vs. non-blitz. Couple that with the different styles of coaching where McVay lets the passing game continue in blowouts while the Pats just run the clock out. Of course stafford would have better stats.

Maye is a second year QB, it's not shocking when he's facing really good defenses that he would struggle. But it's not like Stafford didn't struggle vs. good defenses too. SoS doesn't account simply for defense as well. Maye played 4 of the top 10 defenses in EPA/Play in the playoffs, Stafford played 1 and it was the SEahawks, who's a division rival they played twice. ANd you almost always play better vs. teams you see more often (unless you're the sorry ass falcons)

CMC should have been MVP

Miss me with that BS.

The EPA/play is higher because he threw the ball significantly less, largely because they played a trash schedule, so they often played with a 2 score lead.

I asked before but like ... why is Diggs playing if he tried to strangle his chef or whatever that was? Thats a felony?

Guys toxic btw. Idk why its usually the Wrs, but they aint all there it seems.

MVP, SB Ring, more yards, more TDs.
His MVP has a huge asterisk, he wasn't close to the MVP of the league and won it in a super soft season. Ryan had one of the most efficient QB seasons ever in the era of peak QB play. Stafford is lucky Lamar was hurt, the chiefs sucked and Mahomes got hurtand Allen went full mid.

That's not how it works. When you have a lead your EPA/Play goes down. Stafford padding his stats by beating the piss out of teams is why his EPA/Play is lower. Every game he threw for 4 or more TDs they won by double digits. That's why his EPA/Play is lower. Is those games the Pats didn't just keep throwing the ball, they ran it out.

Maye was awful.

They never got off the ground.
He didn't look terrible in the first half. He struggled but with what he was up against he wasn't terrible. By the second half though he was playing scared. Him missing wide open receivers, that arm punt, etc. he was playing scared. I partially blame McDaniels. He should have known this was a risk and set up more zone breaking schemes. Seahawks spent 90% of the game in quarters and sent 4. THe Rams beat this by hitting Puca short and letting him make plays. Pats don't have that kind of player but they could have gashed them for 6-7 yard plays semi consistently.

It wasn't terrible. Just wasn't your style. Not everything has to be your style.
2 pages ago, you literally called like half of the SB performances in the last 30 years either mediocre or bad.

But if someone else doesn't like it, it doesn't mean it was terrible, it just wasn't their style..... Got it.

That’s always his excuse.

It was awful for the masses of US folks that don’t speak English.

Just saying - Spanish music isn’t universally appealing. It doesn’t follow the beat. He just talked through the changes in music
