REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Yeah this division is garbage. It's a joke actually. 7 wins gets to the playoffs.

It's not as bad as the NFC South was last year. Dallas is a really good team, one of the top 5 or so in the NFL with Romo. THey still are a 9 win team without Romo IMO. They're just much less liekly to get a bye at this point.

Also can I just say, I'm so glad the Falcons started off with 2 wins. Yes they were too close, yes they should have bested the Eagles and the Giants by more. But getting the wins is what matters the most. With Dallas 3rd they could quite easily be 1-2 or 0-3 with rougher starts. Now they will be at worst 2-1. Dallas I think still beats Atlanta. No Romo and no Dez hurts Dallas, but they should be able to run on Atlanta, a lot.

I don't have much confidence in Atlanta's OL against Dallas. I agree, it's good to be 2-0. I don't think the last two years' teams beat Philly and the Giants. They sure wouldn't have been able to win today after being down by 10 in the second half on the road.

Would have lost by a field goal both games probably. Biggest improvement has been the defense. They're not amazing. But they're already showing so many signs of being better.

Yeah, I mean our rushers can actually get to the QB so that's a positive. Alford got killed today, but there is some improvement from the secondary.

I mean, OBJ is a really fantastic WR. Alford is our 2 for a reason. He doese a good job trying to jump routes but he lacks the coverage skills that Trufant has.

Whatever happened in the fox Broadcast was really weird.

Pretty shocked we didn't move Tru over to follow OBJ

Stills amazes me how fans try to justify no playoff success being alright.

Thats because they are looking to the future while your whining about the past. Someone like Ryan might have no playoff success but that doesnt mean he wont in the future. If QB's do anything but win super bowls they are critisized for how far they got. If its not "no playoff success" its "well he hasnt got past the NFCCG" or "Yeah he has made 3 super bowls but he lost all 3". Even Peyton still gets "well he only won 1 super bowl" ****. If you want to criticize anyone for lack of playoff success its the head coach.

Man, can't even be happy about that big W. Maybe with how bad the rest of the division is, Dallas will be able to keep their head above water with the way their defense is playing (and with McClain, Hardy, and Gregory coming back still).

It's amazing what a difference maker Sean Lee is. Dude is a straight baller.

The will be fine at least as far as winning their division goes. I love me some Sean Lee. So glad to see him healthy.

He really is. Had a hard go of it with the injuries.

Dallas D is a good bit improved, although I don't think the Giants or Eagles are anything more than 7-9'ish teams. Philly letting Evan Mathis go was a mistake.

Hate to see Alonso go down again. Not sure the severity, but it always makes me cringe to see a player go down coming right back off a serious injury. Hate it for them, because you know its brutal.

I love the hit JJ Wilcox put on OBJ breaking his nose. Stayed in the game too....Watched him move from RB to S in college and he had "it" from the word go.

Like I said, our defense is getting some really, really good players back. They could carry us until the offense is healthy. And then the sky is the limit (IMO).

As far as Wilcox - YES. He's been making that transition and it was rough the last two years, but he looks good and you could see the talent was there.

Witten had two sprained ankles and a sprained knee yesterday...played the whole game.
