Check out their career rushing yards, maybe you'll educate yourself.
If Gore falls off next year, like Waters, Lewis, etc. who only had 10 seasons in the NFL that's where he'll end up. And that's not a HOF group. If he can play 2 more seasons and add another 2000 yards and 20 TDs then he'll basically be about where Edge is, and that will give him his best shot. Or if he stuck around for 4 years gained about 3000 yards and 20 TDs he'll be in Bettis teritory and have a decent shot.
And as far as yards per carry goes. Maybe you should educate yourselves on those guys careers, Fred Taylor's peak he averaged 4.7 Y/C, some of those guys aren't better than Gore (didn't say they were, just said Gore was behind them) So basically, you can choose to believe what you want as far as who like Gore mroe than, but voters will look at him compared to his peers. He'll likely wind up in the group behind Tomlinson, AP, Edge, MJD, Lynch, etc. Hell I don't think you can let Gore in before Ricky Watters (for who for what) gets in. In the end it will depend on how long Gore can play. If he ages like most RBs next year his numbers will take a dive and he'll be out of the NFL or playing for a bum team the following year (like McGahee) and then out shortly after that. If he bucks that trend, then he'll have a shot.
But look at the career of Edge, His 29 year old season (same season Gore is at) he had 1200 yards and a handful of TDs, the next 2 he had 600 and 2. Maybe he'll luck out and have a 10th season like Curtis Martin or a small handful of other great RBs. But even LT didn't do much in the NFL at 30. Gore is doing a lot at 30, and maybe he can do a lot at 31. But I woudln't bet money on it.
