REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Just some musings on this playoffs.

Broncos are in their best point to win now. Broncos are at about 120 million towards their 2014 cap, though they're almost for sure cutting champ bailey. Or at least restructuring him. Same likelyhood with Clady where a new deal can lower their hit and let them have another great shot next year. Welker could also potentially be a guy they could rework. But I doubt that. Broncos have a lot of big FA though, Rogers-Cromartie and Jammer are both FA, Moreno, and Decker as well. They won't be able to keep all of them most likely unless they make some big moves. Other defensive starters are FA as well, Mike Adams, Shaun Phillips, and Wesley Woodyard. Obviously there will be some guys who were starters for them, who won't be back.

Niners and Seahawks I think are both teams who'll likely be in the mix next year. But both coming up on big payroll crunches. Niners it will be after 2015 when Kaepernick is a FA and will no longer be making under a mil. If they're smart they'll do what the Falcons did and get him signed early, the earlier you sign your QB and make the cuts you need to make the better your team is long term. Seahawks crunch is the year after the Niners when Wilson is a FA but they'll first feel the sting start next year and may lose some guys to FA or have to cut some guys. But they're gonna return many of the same players most likely.

Pats are golden for the future as long as they have Brady and Belichick. On of the youngest teams in the NFL and had the second best record in the AFC. With a slew of good WRs who may hit FA the Pats should invest in one of them, not sure who fits their needs but potential FAs are Jacoby Jones, Jermaine Jones, Jacoby Jones, Devin Hester, Jeremy Maclin, Emmanuel Sanders, Heyward-Bey, Nicks, Britt, McCluster, Golden Tate, and their option to keep Edelman.

Personally I'd let Edelman walk, Bring in Sanders and Nicks if they both his FA. Nicks coudl be you 1, and Sanders your slash. Edelman put up great numbers but he's no different than pretty much anyone out there, except that he had Brady throwing him the ball. He's no Welker.

I'd agree on Den but there are some cuttable players to free up cap space. There was an article on BP on the cap, but obviouly they'll lose some key guys, every team does.

NE is at 115, and has Talib/Blount/Edelman/Wendell/Spikes as key FA's. Though i'd imagine Collins replaces Spikes. Ridley and Vereen are FA's the year after, and you cant pay 3 RB's big money, so it will be interesting who they pay of those. I'd imagine Blount (depending on cost), and Vereen. Edelman is hard to say, depends how much he costs with Amendola who makes 5-6 million as well. To the WR's, they have Thompkins/Dobson/Boyce who are all young, and cheap with Amendola, possibly Edelman back, i dont think they'll sign one or have the need. TE is a bigger need.

Sea is the hardest, it will be hard to pay all 3 of Sherman/Thomas/Wilson potentially 15+ million, 10-12+ million, and 18-20+ million along with other higher paid players like Harvin, Okung, etc. Some may laugh, i would let Sherman walk, he's awesome, best CB in football but with all the other young players at CB they develop, they could get by with others at CB, and having more money to go elsewhere. Not sure it happens though but if he wants Revis money, then it will be tough.

SF isnt in bad shape but it helps they have Kap on a rookie deal.

It always depends on what the QB signs for. Can never blame someone for taking the biggest deal for their first deal. For some reason I have a feeling that Wilson won't get that big max deal that everyone thinks. I hope Kaep will do the same but I think he will be a guy that gets as much as he possibly can.

the cowboys whooped the rams and the eagles took care of the cardinals pretty handily

That was at teh beginning of the season for the Rams and the Eagle game was hardly an example of winning handily, especially in your home building. Not to mention Ellington didn't even play.

I don't think people realize just how good both the Rams/Cardinals are.

No need for anything obnoxious. Reading through all your posts from the beginning of the game until now has been an absolute delight. I gotta say it brought a tear to my eye watching two enemies in you and giles put your disagreements aside and come together for a Sunday filled full of whining, crying and sniveling. I'll admit it, I cried today too. I cried when I thought of the handsome friendship that blossomed between you two today. The mutual sadness shared between you guys today was quite the pleasure to see. I may act like a hard ass sometimes, but the camaraderie between you Zito, and you giles, really touched my restless heart. I can only pray and hope that the Niners win next Sunday so I can come on here and review the general misery and sheer sorrow from you two while your own 3 and 4 win teams sit at home waiting for another run at it next year.

If you need a visual, this is what I did after every post I read.

As much as I dislike Seattle, it will be entertaining to see the douchebag crew roll up to Seattle and get absolutely **** on again. If Wilson didn't have any class he would probably mock Kaeps celebration, but I'm guessing Wilson is too classy for that.

Watching Harbaugh cry on the sidelines is always fun. Much more fun when they lose.

You know that Carolina was mocking Kaepernicking early in the season right?

Fair enough. i didn't like the Kaep did it either. I prefer Wilsons on field demeanor as opposed to Kaep. It doesn't matter though as long as he wins a SB though.

I doubt that's the last thing that happens in the next 7 days that you say that about. Things are gonna get FUGLY by this time next week.

It shouldn't. There are no Seahawks fans on the board. Just a handful of people who hate San Fran for whatever reason.

Seattle has more douchey players. Earl Thomas does some lame "bad ass" celebration after every tackle he makes that is douchier than anything Kap does. Who cares if Wilson mocks Kap's celebration. Doing the same celebration every time is lame and just opens yourself up for being mocked anyway.

Watching Harbaugh cry on the sidelines is hilarious. I don't know why people get bent out of shape over it. How can you not laugh at this stuff?

That is my issue with him. I love the passion he shows, but it's over the top. Especially yesterday where it drew a flag. Clearly VD's catch was going to be reviewed by the booth. No need to run 15 yards down field and throw a fit.

Thats probably my fault mostly.

No it's mainly the 49er players. I don't like the Seahawks either but the Niners don't have anyone redeeming like Wilson or Lynch seem to be. I only say seem cause you never know when someone may go douchey.

I hate Carroll just as much as I hate Harbaugh, maybe a little less but a ton.

It's hard to root for a team with Kaepernick, Crabtree, Boldin, etc.

There's only a few douchey players and you pretty much just named all of them other than Whitner. Frank Gore, Justin Smith and Patrick Willis are as classy as it gets.

If Kap, Crabs and Boldin were on the Falcons you'd be rooting for them because you'd be in the Championship game right now.

The Eagles won 24-21 at home. wut

They came back at the end. The Eagles held them down pretty much all game and controlled it.

The top 2 in the east went 2-0 in those games. I don't think the Rams go 10-6 in the East. That's pretty dumb

I don't like Seattle much either. Thomas doesn't bother me, but I love to see Shermans mouth get shut and Carroll whines almost as much as Harbaugh.

But, guys like Kaep, Boldin, Crabtree make people hate SF enough as it is; haivng thethe suck the teams off everyday certainly makes them more hated.
