REAL FOOTBALL Thread

So lots of talk about OT. I think it was Chris Rose who brought up the good point that Mahomes has now been on both sides of this coin. Losing AFCCG in OT without taking the field, now winning a playoff game.

To me the OT rules in the NFL don't make a ton of sense and there's 2 ways to solve it. The not good way of playing shorter quarters and the winner at the end of that quarter wins. Say 10 minutes, perhaps 5 with 2 minute timing rules. Continue until a quarter ends with a winner.

Or my personal favorite, a spin on the old college football style. Start the teams out at the 40, put on a clock if you want it to go faster too. Also severely push back the extra point distance to be a 45 yard line.

I think the only change should be that both that both sides get the ball 1 time. If it's still tied after that, then it's sudden death.

I know the Rams have a really good defense, but damn, Kyle Shanahan is the choke artist king. The architect of 3 of the worst 4th Quarter offensive choke jobs ever.

I was rooting for the Rams, but I do feel bad for the niner fans out there.

2 4 seeds in the Superbowl.

Been rooting AFC for ages, I want Bengals to win for 2 reasons.

1. **** the Rams. Moving to LA. **** em. They deserve to have someone else celebrate on their field.

2. Bengals never won. I'm always down for teams who've never won winning. Titans, Bills, and Bengals were my favorites.

He can only scheme so much without an elite QB. But he'll get crucified for sure.

10 point lead in the 4th Quarter. Proceeds to give up 13 unanswered. I know it happens sometimes. But that's 3 straight that he's been involved in. That's pretty inexcusable, no matter the QB. For someone tabbed as an offensive guru, you sure wouldn't know it when a 4th quarter lead.

It'd almost be better for him to be behind.

Agreed - Not passing on that 3rd and short as well as not going for it on 4th is inexcusable.

If you didn't want to go for it then you need to pass on third. You only run if you're committed to going for it on 4th in that situation.

Just awful awful big game coaching.

Willis is a bit raw, like Josh Allen was, but I think he has the highest potential of any QB in this class. Cannon for an arm, very good with his legs. And has shown to be pretty accurate over the years.

The botched extra point. I had Rams 4 Bengals 0 in a $1,500 per box pool. Can’t speak lol. Would’ve hit halftime and final score.

I think we can safely say Stafford is a lock for the Hall of Fame now.

Yup. He likely was anyways just based on the fact that he's probably got another 5-6 years left in him and another 20k yards assuming health. But this pretty much solidifies it.
