Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

That is a creative interpretation of that quote.

Hannity statement wasn't meant to interpret the Trump quote. I just think it's pretty easy to figure out the intent of the Nunes memo. Since you're big on promises: remember when the FBI was going to be shaken to its core by the Nunes revelations?

So - again- are you saying that if this 'Schiff memo' was released Friday afternoon it would have stopped the Nunes memo's roll?

You said you were told the Schiff memo was going to take a catapult to the Nunes one and you're not impressed. I know those aren't the exact words but that's basically what you meant right?

I'm telling you that already happened the day the Nunes memo was released from analysis of it independent of the house committee.

The Nunes memo certainly had a very short half-life. I look forward to Inspector Clouseau's next efforts.

Yes, I also remember when the release of the memo was going to destroy collection techniques and handicap the US in its international intelligence efforts.

...

There's nothing that's 'pretty easy' to figure about the intent of the Nunes memo. You can't prove what you claim, primarily because it's steeped in the most ridiculous conspiratorial angle one might derive from the whole charade, so just save your breath and stop pushing a plot that you can't substantiate with any relevant bits of reality (except, apparently, with Sean Hannity quotes that are slap-happily attributed to Trump's thought process).

impressive work there Gates

You tell me if the Schiff memo is going to make it above the fold in my copy of the NYT tomorrow.

Hawk do you believe there is/was an FBI plot against Trump? Are you denying this has been peddled by the right for the past several months? Seriously go back, examine the statements and then tell me what is so "conspiratorial" about the idea these people want this investigation dead.

Trump needs to hire you.

If he knew the Schiff memo was nothing, and still declined to release it because of political purposes then he's not as smart as I thought. The Nunes memo was 2.5 weeks of hype and then forgotten less than a week later and the "second Nunes memo" was already being hyped. If he declined the Schiff memo because he deemed it political, why did he go ahead and release the Nunes memo?

Your claim that Trump released the memo specifically so he could fire Rosenstein (and, in effect, Mueller) is what I'm saying is pure conspiracy grade hogwash. I mean, it could be true, but there's literally nothing that substantiates it in terms of quotes or messaging from the White House. So when you say things like, "it's pretty easy to figure out the intent of the Nunes memo" I can't help but be taken aback by the brainwash. You should not feel comfortable espousing **** like that unless you can back it up.

I believe the White House and the GOP want the investigation dead. I don't think that anyone in their right mind would believe that firing Mueller would be a legitimately effective route to accomplish that.

They have procedures they follow to avoid "unmasking" U.S. persons not directly at issue in the application. Hence the reference to U.S. person and Candidate #1. I don't have a problem with them sticking with protocol.

How can you possibly be comfortable with this omission?

I just think it's kind of typical to blame the memo's toothlessness on Trump. Yeah, he pocketed it, but the Democrats have their own channels for promoting this kind of stuff. We're talking about hashtags and lunatical late-evening TV hosts here.

I don't care that Trump pocketed it, what I just find hilarious was the fact he himself was hyping the Nunes memo and tweeting about how it totally vindicates him and clears him of any wrongdoing.

Again, Trumpers on Twitter were hyping the Nunes memo for almost 3 weeks. Even actual R-Congressmen were tweeting about how this was going to be BIG. thethe himself on here was continuously posting daily updates about it on here. Trump accusing the Schiff memo of being political, but rode the hype of the Nunes memo until it died down.

Also, there's something curious about the fact that the DoJ went through four separate FISC judges for renewals on the same application.

We should note that the sourcing on this is flimsy, as the judges haven't been named yet, and the reporting on this is all relatively fresh.

What I said for months ended up being true so you can call me conspiratorial all you want. They used the doisser in the application.

Why is that hilarious? Why wouldn't he milk that thing for every last bit of vindication that he felt it could provide?

Yes, it was insanely over-hyped. But Schiff, and many others, shat their pants over it, gave it credence. In the end, even if history only remembers the memo as a cheap play to the Republican base, that it accomplished more than the Democratic memo did shouldn't be the subject of much disagreement.

Is it just one judge that reviews the application each time? Different judges would give an advantage as large swaths of evidence gets to be "new" each time.
