SC Cop charged with murder

Definitely manslaughter. But you don't need to exaggerate to prove your point. From the video, the suspect clearly did reach for the stun gun. Looks like he knocked it out of the cops hands, then took off running. Then the cop shot the unarmed guy in the back like a coward.

That's murder 2.

Trust in and listen to cops, they said!
It will all work out, they said!
This is why people, ESPECIALLY BLACK PEOPLE, don't trust cops. They're frequently targeted and there is little regard for their life in the cops' minds. But no, this is allllllll made up and blown out of proportion. Another person shot down by a cop. ANOTHER. it is unreal. in our free country of America.

Had this not been filmed, the cop suckers would have believed the cop saying the big scary black man took his taser (which was later planted on his body) and that the cop had to do what he had to do.

then the child support stuff would come out and the same folks would claim what a deadbeat thug he was.

But then they would all say "he shouldn't have been killed but..."

Forensics would prove that the guy was shot in the back while running away. The video just provided proof sooner.

Yep, cop hopefully gets whats coming to him. When are people going to learn that fighting with cops is not the answer? You are putting yourself in danger. Whether or not there are good cops and bad, when you resist arrest, you put yourself at risk. What good comes out of it for you?

yes everyone should just obey these super trustworthy cops. because they don't plant evidence or anything. just listen to them! haven't they earned the benefit of the doubt?! otherwise you'll be shot. that's the lesson here.

this is a terrible, terrible thing for you to say in our "free" country. it is astounding. i don't trust cops, and I would trust them even less if I were black and had to deal with them.

perhaps we should actually start punishing cops who abuse power. too often they're defended. they know the chances of repercussions are extremely small. this guy got caught red-handed. sometimes even that's not enough.

just listen to the guy willing to murder someone! what could go wrong?!

What are the odds of getting randomly shot vs shot by a cop?

I'm not commenting on anything, I honestly don't know and would be interested. 1 undeserving person is too many.

"Police accounts of the moments that led to Scott’s death weren’t credible in Samuel Scott’s eyes.
“He’s not a violent guy — never seen him argue with anybody. I just can’t see it,” Samuel Scott said.
A statement released by North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said a man ran on foot from the traffic stop and an officer deployed his department-issued Taser in an attempt to stop him.
That did not work, police said, and an altercation ensued as the men struggled over the device. Police allege that during the struggle the man gained control of the Taser and attempted to use it against the officer.
The officer then resorted to his service weapon and shot him, police alleged.
It was not immediately clear how many times Scott had been shot or where on his body he was wounded.
Officers tried to revive him prior to the arrival of paramedics, police said. But their efforts were in vain. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Police did not immediately specify whether he was armed."

COPPING IN AMERICA

Absolutely a disgusting act. Cannot refute that.

Curious what the masses say if it was a black cop who killed a white man. My guess is it would be a non story.

And what should the cop have done then? Just let the guy run away.

Nobody agrees with what happened. What should have happened is simple escalation of force. Pretty standard while I was deployed:

Shout, show, shove, shoot to wound, and shoot to kill.

Clearly the last one is an absolute last resort and some are not applicable in each situation. Nonetheless the end result should have been a shot to wound if nothing else could have been done. Even that is extreme in this case.
