Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Now it sounds like Trump is closing the department of education.

Cna things get any better?

Teslas valuation is based on its driverless tech and optimus.

Car sales are completely ancillary to how the company is being valued.

I literally posted "They don't just sell cars."

So yes I am completely aware of that. It still doesn't add up to their current valuation.

Tesla's recent run up coincided with the election because Elon was so involved and meme stock traders bought the **** out of it. Not coincidentally, DOGE coin is also up over 100% since that time as well. That is what meme stocks and ****coins do.

I will say though, if 2020 is any representation of how the stock market will re-act to anything Trump says, people are going to make a lot of money. If Trump even mentions the word Tesla, you can bet it will jump at least 10% that day.

I just don't think you are appreciating the impact to society on driverless tech as well as robotics eliminating work.

Its truly reality changing on the horizon that is almost imposible to quantify.

I don't think you appreciate that Tesla doesn't have a monopoly on that technology. Robotics and driverless tech have been around for a long while. Not on our roads, but it's been around for awhile regardless. And Tesla is already seeing of legal battles in relation to this as well.

And the market clearly believes that Elon's companies are the ones that will bring it to market in a scalable/effective way.

Just look Jesnen Huang says....

Again, the stock is up over a few weeks leading up to the election, along with other meme stocks/coins. Pretty much every single analysts agrees that it is valued too highly.

Please find me a similar stock with this sort of valuation based almost entirely on projection. You won't find it.

What is cryptos current value based on?

The market assumed that this corrupt regime was going to backrupt Elon. Now the true valuation can be determined.

I see you don't understand crypto.... why am I not surprised.

You think cryptos valuation is based off current period results or projections of what the future will be?

So please explain to me then what is the rationale for the runup in the past six months if not for future projection.

Its taken instituational investors ages to get up to speed but its all about what they believe the future will hold.

Guess I'll have to deal with Tesla meming all the way to 2500 when driverless tech is fully adopted on his automonmous fleets.

Carp will still tell me the stock is overvalued.

As a Tesla owner who’s ****ed around with FSD, it’s simultaneously impressive and awful. It does highways well, but I think we have a long ways to go for city streets.

Years for sure - But each iteration that is released showing its viability the valuation will skyrocket.

Its getting better at an accelerating rate and will continue to do so the next few years.

Savy investors get in early before viability when they believe in the leaderships vision and ability to execute on that vision.

This completely ignores when optimus is made available for the public for sale - Truly game changing on freeing up peoples time for innovation.

Hundreds of millions of optimus robuts will be sold within the first year of its approval to be put on market.

Elon thinks billions but not sure aobut that one.

BTC is not an equity. It is not a commodity. So technically, BTC can be neither over-valued nor under-valued as there is no basis to make such a statement. Why you think it remotely is comparable to Car tech company is wild.

And there really isn't a "6 month run-up" Tesla has been trading in roughly the same range since mid 2022. And up until July of this year, most would categorize the stock as being a steady decline since Late 2021. The biggest outlier of the last 3 years happened 3 weeks ago, along with run ups of other meme stocks and ****coins.

Jesus Christ dude.

I know you are in finance but I sincerely hope you are not making any sort investment decisions for anyone.

I make investment decisions for my family and without patting myself on the back too much I've done quite well for myself.

I never called it either - THat is what you are ascribing to what I posed to you.

Your point of contention was that Tesla is overvalued because of the results of their operations on selling cars. So while you are trying to flip it that I said something about Cryptos that I didn't its you that doesn't understand valuation if you countered Teslas valuation based on car sales.

That is, in fact, not what I said. They sell more than cars, which I stated. I also stated it's overvalued based on their own projected forward earnings. By about 100x.

NVIDIA has substantially more growth and overall market dominance (in relation to their sector) RIGHT NOW than Tesla optimistically MIGHT have 10-20 years from now. And yet NVDA isn't even trading at 100x it's forward earnings.

YOu can't argue with Musk fanboys. Tesla is heavily speculated in it's trade. Which means it could become legit. Apple used to be that way and now has settled into a safe stock realm. But it also could come crashing down if they have multiple disappointing earnings and investors become less bullish.
