Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Well you said the same for Panama arguing there is no encroaching CCP influence while the president just said he will stop his commitment to the belt and road initiative which ist he CCP's influence operation. Now that you've been proven wrong in 24 hours on this one you have shifted to Canada? Cool...

I mean, I guess you just love being wrong.

If Panama can just casually opt out of the sinister Chinese influence in the Panama Canal, perhaps the situation isn’t as dire a threat to our national security as you’ve been screeching about.

Ah so you now admit there was CCP influence - maybe? I thought there was none.

Of course when the US flexes its muscles they can reverse things. that doesn't mean it wasn't happening nad it was causing negative impacts to our interests.

Jesus Christ, dude. The argument was never that China isn’t investing in the region or exerting any sort of influence. The argument was that China is not acting with hostility or coercing Panama, so using the US military to take over influence in the canal wouldn’t be justified.

To act like China (CCP) is not tryin gto exert influence through their INFLUENCE OPERATION of the belt & road initiative is just naive. You continue though....

Okay, but the fact that I kept giving you hints and not picking it up is. lol

It's all good. I'm just giving you a hard time, bro.

I ****post quickly and don't care about spelling.

The human brain knows what to do with certain orientations of letters.

We aren't writing novels here.

Can Trump enforce the current law on Chinese influence in the US (tiktok), before raising costs on Americans to try to subdue Chinese influence on Canada?

"Panama may well be in violation of this treaty," the Texas Republican said after listening to U.S. officials and experts.
The $1.3 billion bridge, being built by a consortium between state-controlled firms China Communications Construction Company (601800.SS), opens new tab and China Harbour Engineering Company, is expected to be completed by 2026 after delays and contract amendments.
Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings (0001.HK), opens new tab has operated the ports of Balboa and Cristobal for more than two decades. The publicly listed company is not financially tied to the Chinese government, though Hong Kong firms are subject to state oversight.
"The presence of the Chinese government, Chinese companies, and especially Chinese state companies, but not limited to them, does raise serious issues and concerns for the neutrality of the treaty," George Mason University law professor Eugene Kontorovich, a research fellow at the conservative Heritage Foundation, said at the hearing.

________

The belt and road initiative is what the CCP does to coerce local leadership to doing their will.

He is literally trying to decouple CCP control of it.

He is currently not enforcing US law to allow them more time to do something they refused to do for years.

Much like with throwing tarrifs on Canada... perhaps making them feel the business pain of losing the US market would hasten their desire to sell.

The American citizens love Tik Tok more than Canadian goods so a different tact is required here.

You can pretend its the same but its not.

I prefer my house made of lumber to an app that breeds addiction but to each their own

Odd - You think lumber only comes from Canada?

Fortunately we won't need too much more building when the illegals are shipped out. We have overbuilt already.

Problem solved.
