Once again, the question is not whether or not China is active in the region but rather what that activity entails and what justification, if any, we have for pressuring Panama to reduce that activity. If you choose to argue against the claim China isn’t doing anything in the region you’re giving yourself too easy an argument to rebut.

Do you think people disagree with the idea that tariffs harm the country they’re enacted on? Because that’s generally not the case. The argument is that tariffs are painful for *everyone*. You can coercively use tariffs in this exact manner. People aren’t disagreeing with that, they’re arguing against using them for the reasons they’re being used here because prices will increase for Americans.
