WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump announced on Monday that he had successfully completed the first phase of the Kennedy Center’s renovation by removing its audience.

Arguing that a building cannot undergo construction while people are still in it, Trump revealed that he had spent the past year ensuring that no one would set foot inside the performing arts center for the foreseeable future.

He achieved that goal with blazing efficiency by putting his name on the building, naming himself chairman, and alienating any performing artist one might conceivably pay to see.

Additionally, audiences have steered clear of the Kennedy Center out of fear that they might be seated next to JD Vance.

In a Truth Social post, Trump boasted, “For the past 54 years, the Kennedy Center has been plagued by audiences. I was able to fix that problem in just twelve months!”

Nagasaki and Hiroshima had their entire cities bulldozed to the ground in 1945 and have since completely rebuilt.

Haiti had some mean white people interfering up til 1934 and I guess thats just end of it
There was also that whole pesky 7.0 earthquake in 2010 that basically destroyed the country (completely destroyed all infrastructure) and killed 100,000 to 160,000 people in the most conservative estimates... they've never recovered. Not sure Nagasaki and Hiroshima were completely rebuilt in 16 years but the damage was quite similar. Maybe you weren't aware of this huge historical event ("thats just end of it")?

Japan was also not a third world country.

I was aware of that event, which took Haiti from poorest country in the western hemisphere to poorest country i. The western hemisphere

Okay, so was is then just "Haiti having some mean white people interfering up till 1934 and that's the end of it"? I'm sorry, that's just an ignorant comment.

Yet, it was still a reasonably safe place to visit before the earthquake if you were smart about it. I have a friend who died as a missionary there during the earthquake... his whole family lived there problem free for a decade before.

If you want to make the argument that Haiti was some sort of decent country prior to 2010, but havent been able to recover since... have at it

It was the poorest country in the hemisphere

Look man... all I know is plenty of cruise ships visited Haiti on stops before the 2010 earthquake and they haven't since... if you can't say with a straight face the earthquake had massive impact on their current problems, you're not a serious person

Ok, by when should we expect them to rebuild to the point they got to in 2010?

Its impossible for people to just admit the obvious which is Haiti is a shithole because of its people. THey aren't all bad but a large portion are and in general their IQ bands are very low.

We did not impose reparations on Japan of 300% of GDP. Those were the reparations due France after Haiti became an independent country. Another example of extraordinary punitive reparations were those imposed by the Versailles Treaty. Those were about 80% of Germany's GDP. Extraordinarily punitive, leading to hyperinflation, political paralysis and the rise of Hitler.

We could have flipped the reparations and given the people of Haiti that money and it would have made absolutely no difference.
