Nightengale also mentioned the Diamondbacks wanted Miller badly as well. My guess is that they didn't want to part with Pollack.

Here is the original tweet, mentions a deal was close. May not be done quite yet, but seems apparent something is going, or has gone down:

I wa put out when I read Miller for Baez. Glad that turned out to be bogus. Im growing more and more convinced Miller will be traded though. Sounds like we have several teams on the hook that we're playing against each other.

I fully expect Shelby to be dealt today given these reports. I'm not sure I see a great match for us in AZ, since Pollock is off limits. From all reports, threads and discussions, it appears the teams possibly in play or with the best potential need and match seem to be CHC, BOS, COL, AZ and PIT. What kind of return would you want/expect from those teams?

My favorite from that group is COL, as I'm a huge fan of McMahon, Tapia, Dahl and Wall. Not that we can get all of them, but just that they have the type of offensive prospects we need to target.

If we deal with CHC, I want Soler to be the main piece, and hope we can get Contreras involved somehow. I don't know that i would hate a Baez, Contreras, McKinney package. Surely we'd have to add on our side though.

I doubt Pitt would trade Glasnow, so Meadows and Bell would be the other nice targets. Allen Hanson may not be a bad one to get as a potential MI

I just hope they don't sell cheap here. I sound like a broken record, but I think Miller is on the cusp of becoming an elite pitcher. There has to be more coming back for him than just Soler or just Baez.

braves were meeting late into night and reportedly made progress. a trade w/ shelby miller could happen as soon as today.

Bittersweet. Young pitcher under control for a few more years. I like Miller but anxious to see what we would get in return if they trade him. It better be a clear win. I've been a huge supporter of the front office, but got the feeling this morning that we are trading him just to shed more money we wouldn't have to pay in the future.

...then again that feeling might stem from the results of watching the cowboys vs Skins game last night.
