Shelby Miller

Honestly, I don't think we're a terribly attractive proposition for a guy to sign an extension. I think his useful years are the next three, and they really don't do us any good. Trade for a hitter. Pollock and Soler both sound good to me.

yeah.. um, the Pollock trade really didn't go very well for us.. I think it was because the Dbacks said no.

I'm sure the Dodgers checked in to see if they could screw us again. If Greinke signs elsewhere they could get desperate. What would be a realistic deal with the Dodgers be?

Something like Joc Pederson, either DeLeon or Holmes, and Austin Barnes would be what I would shoot for, though not sure they'd be willing to move Joc. Knowing us we'd probably end up with DeLeon and Holmes along with a fringe bullpen arm coming off tommy john.

We have got to stop trading for pitching. It's kind of like agreeing to get paid in Canadian dollars.

If we trade him, I'd hope for a clear overpay on a position player. Someone the caliber of... oh, I don't know, maybe Jason Heyward?

I'd be fine with a trade based around DeLeon. I'd like to get position player talent at some point but I'm fine with the idea of targeting young pitchers with frontline potential. Right now we have Newcomb, Fried, Allard, Toussant, Sims, Folty, and maybe even Ricardo Sanchez who all have frontline starter ceilings. Their odds of reaching that ceiling vary but the hope is that at least a couple of them hit. I love the idea of putting together a Mets like rotation that keeps us in almost every game.
