That was 13 colonies. About half of which slavery was legal.
The total population of those 13 colonies was about 2.5 million. That would put the original colonies somewhere around 35 in modern American states in population. Or about equal to the population of New Hampshire and Maine.
Also looking historically. NYC (which is the population capital that gives NY it's voting power) was a Loyalist stronghold As were many other parts of the country. The revolution wasn't popular or desired for all the country.
That’s because Dems pay for votes in their harvesting scheme.

Slavery was certainly reprehensible, but I would go back to personal liberty over big government any day. We want the government to take care of us more and more now, and I hate that.
ETA... if current Americans were in that position back then, we would be wearing wigs with bad teeth. Some little punk would raise hell that the throwing the tea in the sea was bad for a starfish or something
