HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A family in west Harris County discovered their pet goat decapitated in their backyard Sunday evening.
Cody Robey returned home with his family around 10 p.m. to find their pet goat, Willow, dead in the backyard of their home.
"I went out there to go bring the goat in and I found that she was lifeless on the ground and I grabbed a flashlight and I realized her head was gone, and nowhere to be found," Robey said.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, which occurred while the family was visiting relatives. The family got back home at about 10 p.m.
Security camera audio captured what appears to be the attack around 5:15 p.m., though no visual evidence shows anyone entering or leaving the property.
"It's awful noises," he said. "Terrible."
Robey says investigators told him Willow was clearly killed by a person.
No blood was found at the scene, and Robey reported the animal's body had been drained of blood.
