Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

So the state of California banned private insurance from raising their prices... the insurers said good bye. And now these homeowners are going to be screwed.

The idiot leftist will call for another Luigi to enact vengeance against the insurance company rather than the government for killing yet another free market

I’ve actually talked about this before. They can’t leave the state or raise prices and most home carriers right now are hemorrhaging money on losses so they just cancel the ones they don’t want.

At least Florida promotes competition

This is all insanity. This is a ****ing wildfire with massive winds. This isn’t DEI or wokeism run amok, it’s a natural disaster and you’re just picking on the people dying for it.

Yes - water not flowing out of hydrants is just a natural disaster.

They’ve gone through millions of gallons of water without it mattering. This isn’t a California issue, it’s a global issue.

Oh? It has nothing to do with diverting water to the ocean to save a fish? It has nothing to do with proper planning and building desalinization plants to have unlimited supplies of water since fires are an issue for California?

Terrible mismanagement because of ineptitude and woke nonsense.

Global? Do tell

Round here we burn it ourselves and it contains the problem. Or clean it up

Google is free still: https://www.wri.org/insights/global-trends-forest-fires

In 2021, for example, Russia saw 5.4 million hectares of fire-related tree cover loss, the most recorded for that country in the last 23 years. This was due in part to prolonged heatwaves that would have been practically impossible without human-induced climate change.

In 2023, record-breaking wildfires in Canada burned almost 7.8 million hectares of tree cover, or about 6 times the country's annual average for 2001-2022.

Do you not remember the bushfires in Australia a few years ago? I’m genuinely 100% open to finding ways to better prepare for fires, and if we need to clear more brush or whatever, then put the ****ing military on it or something. We can come together on our leaders not doing enough, but this whole “LA hired a lesbian fire chief” and “the mayor was in Africa at a ceremony” isn’t the ****ing reason why. The world is getting warmer, more trees in that world are burning down, and this is the inevitable consequence.

You're talking to a brain washed cult, nothing you can say will ever get through them. Dumb cunts like that are the same people who think they could win a fight with a bear if they think fire hydrants could stop 70+ MPH winds from spreading a fire.

This would be like saying Hurricane Katrina could have been stopped if they bagged more sand. Not recognizing a freak event as being something beyond the control of competant or incompetant leadership.

My favorite part of crossfit bro's comment is comparing wildfire management in the american south east, an area with a ton of rain, high humidity and aside from hurricanes typically not much wind to spread wild fires to the desert where LA almost entire is. Ignoring other aspects of it, I find it amusing.
