Spring Training 2015

clearly it happens both ways, but those posts aren't made with the same repeated bull****

Sure they are. You and Heyward and a few others complain about the complaining in almost every thread nonstop. And when it's a positive thread like the Peter Moylan one? You try to turn it negative so you can complain.

Nope, unfortunately the excitement of walking and SFing was short lived.

do you like being a negative dick all the time? figure that would get tiring.

Look at that. The story of every thread. THIRTEEN pages of excited talk about the Braves, both on the negative and positive side, and then you show up and immediately call a poster a dick and completely derail the discussion. Imagine that. But no, you're obviously innocent and Enscheff is the problem.

Obviously we physically can, but when something happens that may be good, or encouraging, an influx of "lolol gutting out losses lolol" comes in. It's just unoriginal and stupid, and it's the same handful of people who contribute little actual discussion, especially about what's happening in the games. That isn't going to change during the season, especially if it's as rough as a lot of us think.

I'm not at all suggesting we can't be critical; I was myself, and I'm sure I will be plenty. That's not the point. Every positive post gets answered by the same tired bull****.

Reflexive negativity is tiresome. Reflexive positivity is probably better for your mental and physical health, but some people just aren't going to get there. I get it. I think that a lot of the negativity right now is directed at management—I don't see a lot directed at individual players yet, and I do think think there is reason (h/t Bowman) to direct some cynicism at the FO. Honestly, when I read stuff—said by management or written here—about our new look and the composition of the lineup, it strikes me as unwarranted optimism wrapped in empty platitude. I don't fault the folks employed by the Braves for taking that line—they're supposed to. But not everybody is going to agree. I'm still going to watch and enjoy and hope for a bright future, and I appreciate the folks who have positive and constructive comments about the team. I likewise sympathize with the frustrations about the offseason and the prospects for this season, and I find the snark and gallows humor kinda entertaining. I just don't want to get in an endless loop of pissing at each other because we don't see eye to eye. Anyway, I'm not going to litigate it further in a baseball thread. Cheers.

I get all of this and I agree. I have no problem being critical of moves or decisions if someone feels a certain way. Certain people pop into threads for the sole purpose of posting the same thing over and over, and then dip with no substance or actual thought put into it. It'd be nice if ignoring it made it go away, but it's often followed by more of the same. At least make it new.

If that were true, you would have a point, but it isn't. Most of the people who bear the brunt of your attacks are some of the most knowledgeable and veteran posters/fans around. Look what happened to Scout when those same people were removed. You are wrong on this one. All you see is the negative from them (and me, I suppose) and you fixate on that.

I can think of at least three people off the top of my head who pretty much only do this when Braves discussion is going on (despite the fact that they post in other forums on here more, and more seriously). That doesn't mean there isn't plenty of good, legit discussion.

That may be true, but the ones I see you attack are always posters who contribute. And that isn't even the point. None of us should be attacking anyone. Attack the argument. Stop calling people names. THAT is what derails a discussion far quicker than any other negative post.

Who have I attacked and called names besides the one enscheff thing you quoted? And all he's done, at least recently, is pop into game/other discussions and make similar comments to the one I responded to. People criticized posters during the one game discussion because we were happy to see certain little things new players were doing well. It's like we couldn't point out positives without being told the team sucked. I'd rather talk about the hopeful progression of new guys and this year's team than harp constantly on how the juggernaut from last year was torn down.

This isn't negativity vs. endless optimism. I understand being disgruntled and questioning moves made by the FO. I don't want or expect this place to be all rainbows. Some people seem to have no other intent than popping into threads on this forum, saying the same ****, and popping out. At least contribute some substance. The people I'm thinking of don't.

I'm not going to go back through your posts and pick out every time you called someone a name or attacked them personally. That would take up far too much of my time. I do know one thing, I don't see it from many others. Just you and Heyward mainly, and I'm pretty sure he stopped when I called him out on it. The rest of us have agreed and disagreed with each other countless times over the past decade+ and, at the very least, have enough respect for the other person not to call them names.

You want positivity? Be the change that you wish to see on the board, Yeezus. :icwudt:

Former Braves Tim Collins and Omar Infante having elbow trouble as well. It appears TJ may be contagious

Took a second to scan your last handful of posts (outside of this thread), and I stopped at about the second or third personal attack against Zito that included basically calling him an idiot. So...

Yeezus is a consistent rude, immature, and disrespectful poster on the board with anyone who disagrees with him.

LOL you seem to have selective memory, then.
zito responds to every post of mine trying to "prove me wrong" on things he has no idea about. so defend him all you want, but zito and i are a different story.

i'm certainly more positive and discussion-oriented than most on here, but remember it how you like.

i've spent more time than i care to discussing this nonsense. this will be a FUN season.

ah, one of the ones who pops in Braves discussion, says little, and pops out. Welcome!

oh btw i feel similar sentiments towards you, for whatever that's worth.

Defend him? This has nothing to do with Zito and everything to do with you being apparently incapable of debating without stooping to the level of calling someone a dick.

sturg's recent posts in Braves discussion:

Odds the Braves don't have a single hitter hit 20 HRs this year? I'd say pretty good as Freeman is our only hope

So everytime we string together a walk a hit and a sac fly you're thump your chest as if it's a huge accomplishment towards building success?

This is gonna get really old this season
Yes - we will get to lose with fire!!!
I'm still curious how the Braves plan to replace Heyward and Upton's production. The smart posters on this board told me we couldn't afford them. so how the hell are we going to be able to afford anyone?

I thought we were going to solve this on the Cuba market

But... but... Signing Cuban hitters was the Braves "plan" all along!!
