It didn't take Lewis two years, it took him one. He's much better this year than he was last year, but he was already really good last year. Again, that directly upward trajectory excites me. He's crazy good, and there may be even more room to grow.

Right, I totally see your point - and again I'm nitpicking. Which is what you have to do to differentiate between guys at the top of the draft.

You look at it as upward trajectory; a part of my brain looks at it as 'is he playing over his head this year'?

Yeah, but his entire career has had an upward trajectory. Even if he's playing over his head, he tore it up last year and in the Cape as well. I don't know why there's more evidence of Lewis playing above his head than a guy like Senzel.

I have read that the Braves are out on Ray and Senzel. With such conflicting reports at least we will know which sites can be completely ignored after this draft unfolds.

True. I did see Keith Law mention today that we are still in on Ray. Between him and BA, that feels pretty credible.

Keith Law was asked specifically if Blake Rutherford could fall to 40. This is his response:

"I had a scout broach that possibility to me yesterday. It's an interesting one, because he was seen coming into the year as a potential top 5 guy and is almost certainly not going up there. I could also see the Phils cutting a deal with him at 1, then trying to pay someone $5 million at 42. There are a lot of possibilities right now with the lack of clarity up top and all these high school kids with upside but no price tags yet."

He also said he doesn't think we're in on Senzel.

Don't want Ray. We need a righty bat.

I don't like Ray's stance or swing at all.

Love Lewis' batspeed, plus if he tones down that high leg kick, he can hammer balls with ease like Justin Upton.

Lewis has that big leg kick and exaggerated load. However, don't get caught up in that when analyzing hitters. Pay attention when the front heel hits the ground. That's when the swing starts. At that point, where are his hands? Are they fully loaded and ready to begin unloading? Where is the bat head? Is it wrapped around the head or more perpendicular to the spine? Is the bat more or less at a 45 degree angle? Those are the things that matter and determine how quick he gets to the ball once the swing starts .

Ray has a Melvin Upton-like stance. IF his mechanics go in whack, he could struggle too much for my liking

He does something with that front leg that I do not like. He's quieter than Kyle for sure, but I see enough to believe that the power he has shown may not translate with a wooden bat.
