Pirates are a great example as to not getting too excited about prospect rankings. They've had so many Top 100 prospects and high draft picks not develop into quality major league players that it's almost reached the point of being ridiculous. They have a terrible offense. The Pirates are REALLY bad. At this point, I would say they are certainly worse than the Nationals and ChiSox, despite what their records say.
I don't see how we don't sweep them the last 3 games.
Their development team has to be part of that. I don’t know how an org doesn’t make sweeping changes when so many high picks fail.Pirates are a great example as to not getting too excited about prospect rankings. They've done okay with pitchers (Chandler will probably be next in that line), but when former Top 100 guys like Davis and Peguero don't even look like good minor league players I agree that something is definitely wrong in the player development process for them.Their development team has to be part of that. Just squint your eyes and pretend they’re playoff standings. This just feels gross. Haha
