The Biden Presidency

If Trump won we would be down 2 million jobs. Probably in a great depression and in world war 27.

Trump would be actively denying the vaccination to blue states and minorities while doing his best to encourage people to go maskless, just like he did when he was in office.

It's stupid for Biden to claim all of the credit for creating all of those new jobs, most of which are just pandemic recovery. It was also stupid for Trump to claim all of the credit for a stock market boom that started in 2009 and continued during his term.

Incredibly annoying that seemingly every president (and politician) does this- either takes full credit in good times or passes blame on their predecessor in bad times- and most people know so little about the economy that they believe it if it is their guy.

Do our lefty friends believe she is a racist just like the orange one?

Is this a serious comparison? Harris discouraging illegal immigration vs. all of the policies Trump put in place to eliminate avenues for legal immigration? Those things are not the same.

This must be tough for you guys to see because it really goes against the ads and the fearmongering about RaDiCaL LeFtIsT OpEn BoRdErS.

Which policies?

Which policies?

You shouldn't really have to look that far beyond the RAISE Act, which proposed a 50% reduction in legal immigration and didn't pass but was effectively imposed as a COVID safety measure (which is one case where a reduction in all forms of immigration makes some good sense). But if you're looking for specific policies where there was an attempt to reduce legal paths to immigration and citizenship...

1) Repeated attempts to eliminate DACA (while pretending to fight for it when convenient)
2) Travel bans
3) Numerous strategies to limit asylum seekers (work restrictions on asylum seekers, only allowing asylum claims at specific ports of entry, delaying application processing, etc.)
4) Lowering the refugee cap to the lowest point in history
5) Preventing states from providing welfare to immigrants, which you'd think would fire you up as a violation of state sovereignty
6) Making it harder to obtain an H1B visa, which was a nightmare when I was trying to hire an international student from her MBA program last year
7) Drastically cutting the rate of military naturalizations
8) Making it more expensive and more difficult to even apply for citizenship

one of my favorite things that happens from the right wing/maga idiot crowd

is when they call anyone that isn't in their ****ty group a communist

when they are clearly a moderate republican really

and then they try to get you angry for doing the policies they actually like as if the moderate republican wasn't exactly what we knew they were

I think Orange One was responsible for the increase in the job growth that was above the steady increase during the Obama presidency. It's a few percentage points and comes to thousands of new jobs. But where are those jobs now? Were they real long term positions or the result of stoking the economy for temporary gains?

Thanks. Can you share the laws, EOs that this list is derived from? I'll give a more thorough answer when I have time to look through it

Links above for Sturg.

I mentioned the RAISE Act, and I'm also confident that if you were to go through his speeches you'd find plenty of additional bluster about things like the wall or policies that never actually could've happened but were purely meant to intimidate and/or demean immigrants. And that is in addition to him referring to them as rapists and murderers or calling their native countries s***holes.

You're comparing the above to the VP traveling to Guatemala to learn about the conditions of migrant communities and then saying 'Don't come illegally into the US, go through legal methods of immigration instead.' You can have plenty of issues with Harris, but that is the definition of a disingenuous comparison from a GOP talking head meant to rile up people like you on Twitter.

I'm comparing Trump being called a racist on a daily basis for saying he didn't want illegal immigrants crossing the boarder... he said over and over and over again that he was in favor of legal immigration.

but when VP Harris says it... it's all the sudden not racist but just good ol common sense.

I recognize that calling out hypocrisy on the left is a waste of energy... but it's just funny how quickly the narrative changes. Remember, kids detained during Trump years were in cages... a modern day holocaust... Kids detained today are in "overflow facilities."

Never fails

You are falsely suggesting that the reason Trump was called a racist was that he said he didn't want illegal immigrants crossing the border. When in reality, that is actually a popular sentiment shared by the current administration and it was all the other things he did that made people call him a racist.

He said he was for illegal immigration while he decimated systems for legal immigration, as noted above. He said many things while doing the opposite.

Trump pushed for merit based immigration which is common around the world.

I know it’s racist to expect people to speak our language and be able to pay for an application.
