No, the whole point is to compare vaccinated vs. unvaccinated. So long as there's not something wacky going on, the rate of natural immunity on each side will balance out. This allows the vaccinated vs. unvaccinated groups to be accurately compared and any difference in Covid rates can be reliably attributed to the vaccine.

The only way the stats showing unvaccinated are 5 times more likely to contract Covid than unvaccinated can be skewed by prior infection numbers is if there is a significantly higher percentage of vaccinated individuals with prior infections than unvaccinated. If they're similar than the 5 times figure holds up and can be attributed to the effectiveness of the vaccine.

The whole point is that you have no clue because they aren't looking at this. You are testing a sub selection of data and just a small imbalance can cause a basis point difference that makes up the efficacy bridge between the two groups.
