The Coronavirus, not the beer

Interesting result of drastically changing our behavior.

Yah it's almost like staying home lowers the chances of people from getting into car accidents, getting hit by a drunk driver, getting kidnapped, home invasions, etc

And now the FDA issues an emergency order to begin use on virus patients.

So again, please help me understand what the **** is wrong with our media?

You keep coming after the media on this, but there are several reasons why.

It hasn't been proven in a real clinical trial setting.

The demand for this is increasing and people who have diseases that this is actually used for to treat are now saying there will be a shortage.

New York was allowed to try this in dire situations.

The media said 'false hope'.

Basically said trump was selling snake oil.

That is what's dangerous. The media WANTS this to be a disaster. Their CCP masters have given their marching orders.

Can someone please explain to me why the media was championing the 'false hope' narrative originally?

Because may be more research needs to be done before we start claiming something as miracle drug? It's fantastic that there have seen some encouraging results so far. But there is a reason we do clinical trials. Even Fauci warned that there was only anecdotal evidence that it could be helpful.

Just like the French doc who said not to take acetaminophen and people started spreading that rumor like wildfire, despite a bunch of other doctors claiming there was nowhere near enough evidence to make such a claim.

Yeah, if we have learned anything from the past 4 years is that we can trust the medias intention.

Is it hard being such a sap?

This coming from the guy who believes literally everything his fearless says. 15 cases right?

If Trump came out today and said he thought the true death rate was 1 or 2 percent, you wouldn't waste a single second in changing your tune.

I'm against the additional quarantine and I never believed the initial statements.

Signal and noise.

And if you dont believe me I can show you the trades I made in late January to sell my stocks.

Wasted the countries time because they couldnt accept the results of the 2020 election.

Democrats have blood on their hands.

Edit: Whoops. Meant 2016. Getting ahead of myself because you know the Democrats and Never Trumpers will protest the 2020 results even though it will be a landslide.

From someone who doesnt like Trump, the media clearly has other interests in mind beside the American people's best.

Open your eyes

Of course there is media bias. That doesn't mean everything on the media reports is wrong. It is, in fact, dangerous to push a drug like hydroxychloroquine as some sort of miracle drug when there is so little data available on it's treatment of COVID-19. You absolutely run the risk of giving people false hope and at the same time potentially affect the availability of the drug to people that actually need it.

But sure. Let's just blame the media.

I'm sure those that have died already and their families are glad that the media is doing this especially since almost every trial done has shown incredibly positive results.

The drug can always be produced. There will be no long term shortages.

The hyping of hydroxchloroquine is of a piece with hyping all the testing centers that were supposed to be opened at the Walmarts and Targets. You take something that is um "aspirational" to coin a phrase and present it to the public as a done deal. It is certainly misleading. And should be covered as such. Giving false hope can also be dangerous. It is difficult to cover the potential damage from giving false and misleading information. But it should be covered. Other presidents have been held to task for it. I seem to remember a former president declaring "mission accomplished" a tad early. That could also be filed under "aspirational" I suppose.

It was never presented as confirmed. It was said there were positive results and the world needs hope that this exists.

Honest mistake I'm sure...right Carp?

"There is no testing kit shortage, nor has there ever been. Anybody that wants a test can get a test.”

"Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away"

"When you have 15, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero"

Great response.

Travel ban with China.

You just can't drown out the noise and see whats actually happening.

let's call them what they are

lies

dangerous disinformation that can cause harm

"aspirational" should be understood as another term for lies or disinformation with potential to cause significant harm to the public
