The Trump Presidency

I'm curious how you would define it. You raised the issue of the definition after all.

I'm not sure, to be honest. Kind of a "know it when you see it" type of thing.

I saw people were quick to say Charletesville was terror attack. I don't agree. So I asked them to define what they meant and of course silence.

Not saying, I'm right. Was genuinely asking.

Going off every definition I've been able to find, I would say what happened in Charlottesville and what happened in the South (probably even certain places in the North) for a long time, things like lynchings and church bombings, count. But I guess it's all up to one's interpretation of the definitions available. What we are being told by many on the right is only the radical Islamist brand counts or is worthy of discussion.

I would think a terror attack needs to have some sore of preemptive planning. I don't think the psycho dude in VA this weekend was planning to plow a car into people

So did he plan on seeing if it would work like if he were driving through a car wash? Pretty obvious he was planning to harm people when he hit the gas.

I care. That may or may not be why I chose to post it.

Obviously, you care, because you chose to comment on it beyond "orange dude".

Do you realize that you can find an unpleasant racial connection in virtually every MLB club's history?

Tell me what you think changing the name of a street that's named after a former owner (who made Boston the last team to integrate) is going to actually accomplish?

And then tell me why it took you 40 ****ing years to figure that out.

Context, kids.

i'm saying i don't know if it will accomplish anything at all

i find it weird to care if they want to change it.

i don't care that it took 1 day or 40 years or never

i don't care if the red sox want to change a street name

LOL... I mean preemptive planning... surely you know this.

I don't believe the dude woke up in the morning with the attention of driving his car into a crowd.

OK. Well, all I can tell you is what the definitions say. I didn't invent the language. What is your cut-off for "preemptive" planning? Might also want to define that word while we're at it.

the so called freedom lover now knows intent of white supremacists that obviously came looking for a fight

I think if you want to draw a distinction between terrorism and a terror attack, I guess so? But I don't think it's hard to figure out he wanted to accomplish something when he chose to do that. That something was harm and intimidation.

no thoughts of terrorism happening here:

and actually, good people on both sides obviously

i do that everyday man

but hey, keep fighting the good fight in the fake name of "freedom"

From a legal perspective, premeditation is the difference between something like first degree murder (planned, plotted, and executed) and voluntary manslaughter (heat of the moment).

Someone who brought up the permit vs. no permit argument to me actually said he had no idea when I brought up the tiki torches and "Jews will not replace us." I guess Fox News has higher priorities like showing loop footage of antifa stomping on monuments.

The good thing is he didn't die so we should get to find out. I think there was probably more to it than hold my torch for a second, I'm going to go hit some people because I'm mad.

It's not the act that should disturb you. It's the reasoning behind it.
