The Trump Presidency

So well it’s curious how the top of the ticket went.

2020 vs 2016

presidential level: swing of 2.4% in presidential vote toward the Dems

House of Reps: 222 Dem seats in 2020 and 194 in 2016

Seems to be a fair amount of correspondence

Of course there was a very blue midterm election in 2018. We don't know how very poorly chosen one would have done in 2018. We can speculate. But that's it. However, we do have data showing a 2.4% swing toward the Dems at the presidential level from 2016 to 2020 and a 28 seat swing in House seats. Doesn't seem so mysterious.

How did Obama do down ballot when he ran for re election? Which president helped their party more?

Remember that blue wave you talked about for a year?

Obama dropped 3.4% from 2008 and 20012. And the Dems lost 58 house seats during the same period.

One of the leasing russiagaters was most likely compromised by the ccp. Im so shocked.

Everything that has happened is the ccps doing. The election result is their doing and it will be undone due to the graces of our brilliant fore fathers

Saudi Arabia has put a women’s rights activist, Loujain al-Hathloul, on trial in a special court set up to handle terrorism cases, more than two years after she was detained over her peaceful activism.

She is accused, along with several other campaigners, of activities that “undermine the kingdom’s security, stability and national unity,” according to the state news agency. The trial began on International Human Rights Day, an irony noted by her family and campaigners.

“Guess what Saudi Arabia does on International Human Rights Day? It sends brave & peaceful activists like Loujain al-Hathloul to their first trial at the ‘terrorism court’, simply for wanting basic human rights,” Amnesty International said on Twitter.

I agree it's hypocritical to label yourself Pro-Life and then support cold-blooded killing of prisoners by the government.
Now, if I had to pick, I would definitely pick the guy who threw innocent people in his trunk, shot them in the head, and then set them on fire over the innocent and helpless child. But I would rather just avoid cold blooded killing altogether.

This guy didn’t shoot them and there actually didn’t end up being reliable evidence that he lit the car on fire. Please excuse the source here, but look at the list of people who supported staying his execution and tell me this is justice:

This was heartbreaking:
“I have learned a lot about the consequences of my actions from my father. He is very firm with me about making the right choices, staying out of trouble, keeping away from the wrong crowd, and keeping my grades up. He stresses to me how important those things are and how one bad choice could ruin my life,” Bernard’s daughter Taneah Scott wrote in a declaration for his clemency petition when she was 16.

“I have never been able to hug my dad, but mentally and emotionally he is there for me as much as possible. It might not seem like much of a relationship, but it is the best one I have and it is important to me.”

That article doesn't mention that the wife's cause of death was ruled to be smoke inhalation because the autopsy found soot in her lungs. So she was breathing. It also leaves out that Bernard was pouring gas on the car while they sang hymns in the trunk.
Regardless, anyone can find redemption at any time. The death penalty is vile.

I just think that if we decide to stick with the death penalty (which we absolutely should not) then we at least should not be using it for people whose jury and prosecutor say shouldn’t be put to death.

Also:

The Manhattan district attorney’s office has stepped up its investigation of President Trump. Prosecutors recently interviewed employees of his lender, Deutsche Bank, and his insurance brokerage — the latest sign that once he leaves office, he could face criminal charges.

literally everyone agrees that our problems run deep
