Justified is over. I liked the ending, not as messy as was hinted at or full of ambiguous loose ends like other popular long-running shows have done, but I thought they wrapped it up well. The show feels over and I guess that's what an ending should do.

I loved it. Thought it fit the feel of the show really well overall. Great underrated series.

Dominic West is a British actor and he doesn't have the best Baltimore accent. Aside from that hes a good character and West is a fine actor.

But the actors don't matter. The writing on the show is unrivaled.

It sure is. All of my co-workers are Wire junkies and we have a litany of quotes from the show to fit almost every occasion.

Watched first three episodes of wire so far. I love it but the inconsistent accents from west make me lauGh. I see what you guys were talking about.

Also, having grown up in the ghetto and hearing ebonics all my life I have to say that Larry Gilliard Jr. has a bad hood accent for a black guy. Wood Harris was solid and even Elba being British have it nailed down better. Also funny seeing Father Gabriel and Stukey on here.

Love the characters so far and writing.

Then you are going to love it because it's widely acknowledged that it takes about 6 or 7 episodes to get into that show.

Please enjoy. I wish I could rewatch that show with a blank slate

Well the show had me sold on the first two episodes based on the premise and what was going on.

There have been movies and shows that have tried to portray inner ghetto culture and projects but have failed or stereotyped miserably. This show seems to have a better approach that I can relate to hence why I like it more. I'm loving the personalities so far and the politics behind the scenes of what needs to get done.

I don't hate McNulty, yet. I hope it doesn't reach the point where I want him to die like Rick Grimes and Jax Teller. That's just terrible writing where I actually want the main character to die (although Grimes has done an almost 180 where I like him now, Jax was just awful).

Time to watch EP 4-5-6 for Season 1.:Bowman:

i got hooked on The Wire from the first intro

At work but am sneaking in some Wire episodes during the downtime (clay tennis courts got rain all morning, gonna be another hour before they dry up).

I'm on S1E8 but man this show is AWESOME. Lines and quotes for days...

"You walkin around with a fake f---in clipboard, you can't even read a playbook!"

"Damn, you take away my pu--y, now you gonna take away my shoes too"

I just really don't think there's anything that's ever been done like The Wire, nor will there ever be.

Part of why I appreciate it (I'm on S1E8), is because a lot of the ball busting between the thugs/hoodlums is how my brothers and I grew up in our neighborhood. No drugs, but pickup basketball games and pickup football games on the street had a lot of ball busting and calling out.

I also love that I'm sort of rooting for the bad guys, at the same time rooting for the good guys. Avon Barksdale is likable even though he's the kingpin. Stringer is a great character/enforcer. The part of them showing him in a macroeconomics class is great character development without saying a word. I see the struggle with DeAngelo trying to get clean and not be a ruthless criminal. The struggle with Bubbs the homeless guy who's likable and good for humor. Father Gabriel and his partner have great chemistry, McNulty and his homicide partner have a great bromance.

Hell even Omar is likable even though he's supposed to be a bad guy.

I don't even know how to describe the show since I've been watching it a few days, but I don't feel like I'm rooting for the bad guys or the good guys. I'm just enjoying both sides of the spectrum and the quality of writing and character development.

My favorite character is probably Lester. Soft-spoken, very intelligent, and he's the character that doesn't talk much but when he does you are fully-engaged and want to hear what he says. Brilliant show so far. I hope the quality maintains throughout all 5 seasons.

I've not seen a show where all the minor and supporting characters have as much depth and likability. I mean characters who I typically would hate if they were on other shows, I find redeeming qualities. Lt. Daniels, the Judge, Rawls, Presbzugnwoiranoi, etc.

There really isn't a character that annoys me. There's always one character that annoys me per show that I've watched. There isn't any major or supporting character on this show that I can't wait for the scene to be over with. I'm literally enjoying all 56 minutes per episode. The dialogue is fantastic.

It really will only get better, and more layers will be added. It is by far and away the best writing a show has ever had.

Lester, Bunk, D'Angelo and Bubbles were always my favorite characters, but there are just so many good ones. David Simon, the show's creator always said the city of Baltimore is the main character. He was a long-time crime reporter for the Baltimore Sun, and Ed Burns was a homicide cop. Simon's attention to detail as a reporter and his passion for the city shines through. When you finish, go look up the hour-long panel some of the cast members did recently.

One of the show's overlying themes is how everything has a system and agents of change to their institution, be it McNulty or D'Angelo, always get **** on.

And that's just the characters the show has gotten to.

At first I thought I was gonna hate De'Angelo, but he's one of my favorites. I like how he's a big fish in a little pond, but a small fish in a lake working in the pit. He has no power to do anything to Avon or Stringer, but the way he runs his crew in the Pit is great they all respect him and I also like how he takes care of his guys compared to Avon who's ruthless to his soldiers.

^ P.S., I will say the first time I watched it, I thought Season 2 was lacking compared to the rest of the series, but on second and third and fourth watches, I'd say it's one of the stronger seasons once you really think about what it's saying.

He is part of some of the series' best scenes. The chicken nugget scene and the chess scene you've already watched by now. There's one toward the end of the season with Stringer that should have gotten the guy an Emmy.

Really speaks to the strengths of the actor, which is why I was pissed off when The Walking Dead made the decision that they did with his character on there.
