Trade deadline thread

Has any non-derp site put together a trade candidate list yet? I expect AA to target the most expensive SPs available, probably rentals, so I’d like to see that list of targets without cross referencing everything myself.

For reference, I wouldn’t be interested in any content from any site putting together moronic packages to get ohtani to Atlanta.

Looks like Giolito, Montgomery, Stroman and maybe Snell are the options. AA should have the prospect capital to push for one of those guys.

I obviously have no inside information on what other teams would be seeking to acquire in a deal for any of the guys you've mentioned, but the "ask" will likely start (and probably end) at Smith-Shawver and Grissom. I can't think of anyone else currently in the Braves' system that would pique anyone's interest. Of course, Anthopoulos has been able to land two All-Stars with William Contreras, a couple of lottery tickets, and pocket change, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's able to pull off a deal for someone of the caliber you outline.

Graveman from the whitesox might be a good bullpen trade candidate. Could also close some games too.

If AA looks at Padres, he might try to get a snell/hader package.

We apparently picked up Yonny Chirinos from the Rays off waivers. We would have been the last team in the waiver order, which is a little surprising that he got to us, but his K numbers are pretty bad this year.

Stroman seems like the best of the available starters, but that likely means he's the most expensive. AA has a history with him though, so I could definitely see him high on our list if we decide to pursue a starter.

I still say Brad Hand needs to be our top target.

If the Padres have a bad couple of weeks Hader will be available and Snell. Not sure what it would take but those 2 would def put us over the top. Even though we are already there.

I think a healthy Fried will help put us over the top. A top tier BP piece on the backend is what we need for sure though.

Can never have too much pitching. That seems to be what brought us down last season. Stirder being hurt at the end of the year and coming back for a playoff start was not ideal.

Well yeah, you never can. But if you lose your top starters, you're most likely done anyways. I wouldnt mind someone like Jordan Montgomery who wouldnt cost a ton.

If we're gonna make a splash, i'd go get Bellinger. Put this team over the top. I know that wont happen but that is what i'd do.

Still makes me chuckle how mad people were at getting Soler

People were mad at getting Soler? We gave up nothing to get him.

I was a little bummed that we didn't sell off our rentals like Charlie, TDA, Smyly, Smith, etc. Quite clearly, AA was smarter than me.

But I also had the opinion that if we were going to be buyers, we needed to buying in the bargain bin aisle and not trading away our top prospects. And that's what AA did. So I feel like I deserve a bit of credit for AA choosing my secondary option.

IMO, pitching is this teams biggest weakness. Granted Rosario and Ozuna have been hot garbage now for a little bit. Some combination of Pillar/Rosario/Ozuna in LF/DH should be enough for this team with the offense being as dominant as it has been.

If there was a way to get Hader/Snell, that would be a massive difference maker for this team.

You could go into the playoffs with Freid/Strider/Snell/Morton. Elder would get relegated to the pen to only boost it.

I probably would have traded off pieces, and moved forward to 2022 as well. But hard to complain at what AA did. We barely traded anything of value for the players we got.
