Trade deadline thread

Flaherty, E-Rod, Severino, etc. all still available.

E-Rod is the clearest upgrade but there’s other options if we want to terminate the Chirino era.

So you move him to the BP for a month and then stretch him back out 2 weeks into September. It isn’t 2005 anymore.

Just think it's a big nothing burger if the goal was to replace Morton or Elder in the rotation. As a backup piece I can understand but I'm not too bothered by it.

If we get a starter I'd prefer it to be an actual upgrade for game 3 in the playoffs.

So Mets are repeaters so is it 110% luxury tax for every dollar spent over the threshold?

If that’s true, Mets are paying $160m for Max and JV to pitch in Texas and they got three good prospects out of it.

Someone check my math please, but wow

I don't think that math is right, but I am honestly too lazy to look it up.

Lorenzen is a fine pickup for Philly but I do find it funny they targeted a contact oriented flyball pitcher to pitch in front of Schwarber and Castellanos.

So if I got the math right, instead of paying Verlander 3 years/122, they wait four months, get him for 2.3 years/49 and it costs them two prospects.
