Trade targets?

Per Heyman, the A’s are reluctant to trade Brent Rooker and JJ Bleday

How completely stupid of the A's. It's not like these guys are 21 and 22-years-old. They are 26 and 29-years-old. Their 1,000 fans will still show up regardless, and I imagine the same amount will show up in Sacramento next year with or without those two.

Stop being crybabies with your “oh well might as well give up” defense mechanism my 7 year uses when he strikes out. Grow a spine and stop whining.

This team has one option, and one option only: add and push for the playoffs. Teams with a 75% playoff chance do not punt the season. Period.

This team is locked into what it is for the next few years, and there’s nothing that can be done to meaningfully change course now. Fix the OF and go win a WC spot. Stop feeling sorry for ourselves and play ball.

I swear, bunch of losers on this board. AA will not throw in the towel.

If we're gonna go for it, then go for it. Adding some nickel and dime piece isn't enough... blow past the luxury threshold, and at least give us a real shot

They haven't been a very good baseball team for three months.

They're beat up, scuffling, and have a big ol payroll. If they can move salary to reconfigure roster or get something helpful for the future that would be the best play.

White flag time.

I think selling would be better than buying. You have to be real secure in your job to contemplate it. Probably best all around to do nothing.

Last time this board had "selling fever" we ended up winning the World Series. I'm with you in that I don't think they will do much of anything. A lot depends on how they view Harris' expected recovery. Even if he comes back 100%, I think they need a couple of better options in the OF. Rosario, Duvall, and Laureano is hardly a resurrection of the Dreikaiserbund.

Hey guys, it’s not going to happen. I’m honestly in agreement with many of you, but there will be no white flags. They’re all in.

Finally somebody else that knows selling is stupid. This team is to talented to sell. AA would have a hard time selling it to ownership with the payroll. Everybody in 21 was telling him to sell and we saw how that turned out. But before anyone stsrts with the well this isnt 21’ i get that. But selling isnt the smart move. AA needs more offense. We could live with the pitching as is but we need more offensive depth.

There is no reason to sell. The ones who are shouting for the Braves to sell are letting emotions win out over logic. There are two reason why the Braves should not and will not sell.

The obvious reason is the Braves are still in the postseason. Selling while in the postseason race sends the wrong message to the team and fans.

The other reason is they wouldn't get much back. Want to trade Olson or Murphy? Braves will likely have to fork over a bunch of cash to help cover the remaining years of the contract, thus cutting down on the probably of getting top prospects in a deal. Trade Fried? One, he's on the IL, and your not going to get as much as you think for the simple fact he's a two month rental. Arcia, Duvall? You think you're getting much of anything? Not hardly.

So no, there is no logic in the Braves selling.

Anyone else catch Ensceff insinuating that fans saying to sell need to grow up and play ball?

Is he saying that we fans would be an upgrade at certain spots or that fans attitudes affect the on field product ?

The Blue Jays have the worst farm system in MLB, and their top prospect is out for the year with surgery. Why they aren't blowing things up and getting what they can for Vladdy Jr., Bichette, Bassitt, Gausman, etc, who knows?

I’m saying this board is mostly filled with spoiled crybabies that act like my 7 year old. “Oh I couldn’t open that jar? I didn’t want it anyways…wahhhhh”.

No team is going to sell when currently occupying a playoff spot. Suggesting they do so is nothing more than throwing a whiny temper tantrum…like a 7 year old.

Getting a guy like Luis Robert is probably not in the cards. Go get 3 quality guys like we did in 21 and 1 or 2 is bound to stick. Pham would definitely change the dynamic of the clubhouse which is needed bad.

Don’t let the spoiled 7 yo get the best of you.
