AA has gone from one extreme to another. He made huge trades in Toronto and is gun shy here. He has to find a medium.
Well. I'm of the firm opinion that without Covid last year and the team without 3 of it's 5 best players position players (plus Soroka) we would have made some serious moves to put us over the top. But money screwed us last year and an overall lack of talent this year is screwing us.

Outside shot of Ozuna coming back

Only 3 games left head to head against the Mets
Very inconsistent team at best this far into the season

It's not official, but Jeff Passan tweeted that the Dodgers are making progress on a deal that would net them both Scherzer and Turner.

I just took the clubhouse comments to mean that the players and the manager believe they are good enough to overtake the Mets without adding anyone. What would one expect highly competitive people to say?
I'm not expecting much of anything to happen. Like last off-season, I think Anthopoulos waited a bit too long and couldn't land someone like Escobar. But who knows what others were asking and whether our offer matched up with the perceived value of the player in question and the needs of the potential trading partner. I think at base level it shows how thin we are at the minor league level right now.
