TUESDAY MINORS FINAL 7/23 ... Bullpen Blows Save for Soroka

I can't wait til Ronald has a season like Mike Trout next year.

.326 with 30 bombs and 49 stolen bags in his age 20 season.

Ronald can do it. He's going to hit over .300 with about 23-25 HR and at least 50 stolen bags across the upper levels this year.

Acuna's K% at AAA is now just 21% compared to a 12% BB%. What if he keeps improving both those rates?

Mike Trout at 19 in AA: 18% K%. 11% BB rate. 11 HR in 412 PA.

Ronald Acuna at 19 in AAA: 21% K%. 12% BB rate. 3 HR in 57 PA.

If he keeps it up at this pace and has 10 more HR or so in 150+ more PA this year in AAA while maintaining or improving both those rates and continuing to be a menace on the basepaths, the hype will become deafening.

Mike Trout's BABIP when he batted .326 in AA at 19: .390. 11 HR in 412 PA.

Ronald Acuna's BABIP when he batted .326 in AA at 19: .396 9 HR in 243 PA.

Andruw Jones batted .339 with 34 HR and 30 SB across A+/AA/AAA at 19. 511 PA.

Ronald Acuna is batting .310 with 15 HR and 35 SB across A+/AA/AAA at 19. 426 PA.

Andruw had 289 PA against A+ pitching, where he hit half his HR.

Acuna had 126 PA against A+ pitching. He's surprisingly hit HR with more frequency against AA and AAA pitching.

So what you are saying is that Ronald Acuna is NOT Andruw Jones and Mike Trout?

I'm saying what I've said all along: He's in their ballpark, and I'm not ruling out him becoming as good as Trout/Harper/Andruw.

Give him the rest of the season and he'll be up to 25ish HR and 50+ SB.

THE VENEZUELAN TROUT!

For the record, these are not their prospect rankings.

Yes, but prospect rankings are completely arbitrary. That's why I couldn't care less about KATOH+.

I happen to think Acuna is number 1 with Vladdy Jr. probably at 2.

I will say, the organization as a whole took a great step forward this year. Look at our top 30 and see who was disappointing. Fried/TD maybe.. Weigel injury sucked but he was outstanding otherwise. Then you have guys like Folty/Ender/Newk/Jo-gun who established themselves.. Acuna, Soroka and Gohard who shot up the ranks.. To me the biggest disappointments thus far have been Swanson and Fried. Both of whom I feel good about bouncing back.
