What's next?

Small disclaimer: in the event that trading Julio would net us say a superstar I'd support it.

In order to make it worth it to the braves trading Julio he'd have to nearly regain his 2013-2014 status, and if he does wouldn't we want to keep him. Especially with how little he costs

I mentioned this earlier in the Miller trade thread. I read an article that stated we saved roughly $4mil on the trade and now have ~$18mil to spend this offseason.

How do you think that should be spent?

Areas that could use improvement:

Veteran SP
Lefty Reliever
3B/LF

I would make a run at signing Uribe to be the primary 3b this year. He isn't going to cost too much and was a clubhouse hit last season.,

CF Inciarte
SS Aybar
1B Freeman
RF Markakis
3B Uribe
C AJ/Flowers
LF Olivera
2B Peterson

Bench:
Bourn
Swisher
Bonafacio
AJ/Flowers
Beckham

I don't think we'll have Bourne and Swish. One will be traded somehow.

I think that is preferred but I don't see anyone taking on a significant portion of the contract and I don't see us doing so either. I also don't see us outright cutting either player. Guess we have to bite the bullet this year until both of them are off the books going into next year.

Anyone think we move Aybar? Shouldn't that be next?

Don't we have enough guys that could play SS in a pinch?

We're going to be bad again, so I'd really like to deal aybar. Keeping him doesn't do anything for us unless they think he'll get a QO next offseason. But even then, I'd think he could get something more valuable back now.

Even if Aybar could get a return that is better than the ~35th pick in the next draft, I don't think the FO wants to hear any more comments about the Braves tanking. I'm guessing Aybar stays put, and gets a QO if he posts his usual 2-3 WAR season next year.

I wonder if we could pry away Zack Wheeler from the Mets for Inciarte. Bowman just reported we're looking for young pitching if we decide to move Inciarte.

Ender being flipped is the next move. It never really made sense getting him back in the deal when we're saddled with Bourn and Mallex is on the way.

The Indians might be a team we match up with. They have young pitching and are open to trading one of Zimmer or Frasier for player (s) who can help in 2016.

Why did it not make sense to get Inciarte back in a deal? He's a very good CF who is under control for 5 years...that's exactly what we needed.

Ender actually fits our plans and our team perfectly. Bourn isn't starter quality anymore so that reason can stop right there. I would still trade him for some young stud big bat prospects that are almost ready. Not pitching though. Trade him for pitching and we are set back again.

The Braves asked for cf'er back in every rumored trade for Miller so I don't see them having much faith in Mallex. I'd keep Inciarte.
