WS tix?

I know it's been decades since the Braves were in the world series, but these prices are kinda wild. Currently standing room tickets are on StubHub for $1000! and the cheapest seated ticket on there is $1150.

Love seeing these seats sold out. Going to be wild this weekend!

Have fun everyone

I was talking with my dad the other day. We were up in Daholega getting some wedding planning taken care of with my fiancé. Her and I were wearing our Braves gear the day after they clinched the pennant and everyone was coming up saying "let's go Braves" or wearing Braves gear of their own. Reminds me of the early 90's. This city is definitely on fire for the Braves right now.

Same here. We were at a 9u baseball tournament in Dothan, and people were saying Go Braves everywhere

My dad and I had some amazing times going to post season games in the 90s when I was a kid/teenager. We still talk about those times today very fondly. Taking a kid could be great.

Mentioned my disdain for where we are today to several friends last night - really sad that we've "evolved" to the point that it's so expensive to attend a World Series game that you rarely see many kids in the stands for one anymore. Just feels like it makes it that much tougher to get them to commit to the game as their far-and-away favorite sport (and lifetime passion) when the only chance they ever get to see a spectacle like last night on TV. Almost makes sense that they get distracted by video games when they realize they're not going to get to see the end with commercials dragging the final innings out until way past bedtime.

I remember being able to con my parents into letting me stay up for one (or a couple) more innings growing up, but games were typically over in time for a compressed version of the local 11:00 news in those days.

I keep going back to this. For what it would take for me to get three tickets for my family, we could all go to Mexico or some Caribbean destination next spring/summer, stay at a nice resort, fly first class, and do 2-3 dive trips. That doesn't even take into account driving down, hotel rooms, boarding our dog, etc.

"Can afford" and "should buy" are two different things entirely.

The other side is this. In the early and mid 90s I was either a college student who couldn't afford to go to a regular season, much less a postseason game, or just out of school working, buying a first house, etc. I always said "they'll get there again soon...I'll go next time." Never thought that next time would be in my 50s. I don't want my son to miss out like I did.

This is pretty much it in a nutshell for me - other than the son part.

Got to see an NLCS game in 1993, so the postseason part was checked off. Last time there was a World Series game in town I was 30 - this time I'm 52. If the schedule repeats itself, there's a legitimate chance I might not be alive to see it.

Combining the fact that this might be my last shot and I'm only paying for me - I feel like the splurge is at least somewhat justifiable...one of those things you'll never forget and tell stories about for the rest of your life.

I wouldn't take my family. My son is in college and is not a baseball fan. My daughters would like the atmosphere, but not the game, so no need to waste money for them to want to walk around the battery. My wife and I differ on where we like to sit.

So that is a good opinion question for the group. Where do you like to sit. I am a upper (above field level) guy. I like seeing the whole field and just getting all the sights and sounds of the stadium.. it doesn't have to be nose bleed, but anything that is above field level so I feel I don't get obstructed views of what I might want to watch. My wife loves field level, close to the action type seats. Plus she hates stadium stairs.

What does everyone else like??

In front of the Chop House for me - the little kid in me still always hold out hope of catching a Freeman/Ozzie HR ball. Always tried to sit 5-10 rows deep in RF back in the days of The Ted - literally missed catching one from Chipper by inches once.

I like being able to sit my drink and the kids nachos on top of the Braves dugout. The Rome Braves dugout.

Since this thread talked about ticket prices, imagine the Astro fans that forked out $500-1000 for a family of 4 for the game last night. I'd be sick
