Not entirely surprised if they don't feel Coppolella is ready yet.
If they have given Hart the full-time job, I can easily see him stepping down by the time the new park opens and give the reigns over to JC. They've already announced JC will have more duties and responsibility with the club, so sounds like they're grooming him to be the next guy.
I thought it was John Hurt being offered the GM spot. Would have been fitting as we need a war GM.
JS was 67 when he stepped down as GM.
Bobby was 69 when he last managed.
Hart is 66 right now. Sounds like 2-3 years in the big chair is the max. Would be weird though since he and JS are almost like equals... if JS would overstep his authority.

It doesn't seem the #Braves GM search has changed. Schuerholz still wants Hart, but Hart seems reluctant to accept a full-time role
Jon Heyman: John Hart Has Big Call: Will He Give Up "Perfect Life" For Perfect Job?

With the Braves, he has a team with a wonderful tradition, an operation he has called the "golf standard", a nice young foundation, and a pitching staff with some serious talent. He also has a manager he seems to like in Fredi Gonzalez, and an up-and-coming potential GM John Coppolella he likes very much. He also has Schuerholz, so close to Hart he always seemed like his partner even all those years they worked in opposite leagues.
