Mac would be a disaster back in Atlanta at his age. And the Heyward ship has sailed. You're living in the past like always Zito.
Nice to see no one else is pretentious on their internet high horse.

It was an obvious mental error and he admitted it. What else could he say?Get rid of Chris Johnson. If you don't want to hustle then you don't care.
By the way, he sucks as a player as well.
I bet you can tell I don't like quitters.
I am near 50 and I still play ball and hustle even though my body doesn't want to and I am not getting paid to play. I am so effing pissed still. I bust my ass to make ends meet and this D-bag said well I tried to steer it fair and not running, I am like what the fu*ck, you admit that? I just went ballistic.

I disagree that he sucks as a player. He's not an all-star but he plays satisfactory defense, not super, but can get the job done. And he can hit some, though his swing is too long and it's probably gonna shorten his career. People forget that he came in and filled Chipper's shoes in the field and at the plate that first year and got ZERO recognition for it. Of course he acted like schmuck in the dugout but at least he had some passion.
He's turned into the whipping boy around here because people seem to need one, but that first year was pretty impressive.
I'll give it a whirl!
I'd trade Alex Wood - LHP, Michael Foltynewicz - RHP and Tyrell Jenkins - RHP to the Dodgers for Yasiel Puig - OF
Trade Julio Teheran, Christian Bethancourt and Lucas Sims to the Brewers for Jonathan Lucroy and Will Smith
Sign David Price - 7 yrs/180 mil
Resign Juan Uribe - 2 yrs/10 mil
Resign Kelly Johnson - 1 yr/2 mil
Resign A.J. Pierzynski - 1 yr/2 mil
Release Chris Johnson
Fire Fredi Gonzalez
Hire Terry Pendleton
Lineup:
Maybin - CF
Markakis - LF
Freeman - 1B
Puig - RF
Lucroy - C
Peterson - 2B
Uribe - 3B
Simmons - SS
Bench:
Pierzynski - C
K. Johnson - Super Utility
Ciriaco - IF
Terdoslovich - OF/1B
Cunningham - OF
Rotation:
Price - LHP
Miller - RHP
Wisler - RHP
Banuelos - LHP
W. Perez - RHP
Bullpen:
Winkler - LRP
McKirahan - LOOGY
Vizcaino - MRP
Withrow - MRP
Simmons - SUP
W. Smith - LHSUP
Grilli - CP
That would be a very competitive team!
I like the idea of Grilli and CJ packaged together for little return. I make that move and consider any other move that makes us a better team.
Come the offseason I dangle Jace or Peraza with Bethancourt for a catcher. So a move I make is Jace for McCann and cash. Yankees have **** at 2B this year. Refsnyder is a very nice prospect, so maybe this changes, but I can see this working out for both teams especially if the Yankees go after Wieters.
Then I trade Maybin for the best possible prospect haul. Or Markakis if anyone takes his salary.
OK so that's my trades.
Then I sign Jason to say a 7/160 deal. Maybe he takes more but I think that should get it done. Then I sign Price for whatever the hell it takes.
2016 Braves (eventual lineup when everyone is situated with roles
CF - Smith
2B - Jace/Peraza
RF - Jason
1B - Freddie
C - Mac
SS - Simmons
LF - Maybin/Markakis
3B - Ruiz
Risk to lineup is it's very lefty heavy. Especially cause i don't expect us to unload Markakis. Advantage to it though is we have a strong middle and good skill players throughout. OOnly other move to consider is resigning El Juan Chubbard the second. Not sure if he'd stay on a 1 year deal though.
Rotation
Price
Miller
Wood
Julio
Folty/Wisler/Man Ban/etc..
Pen
Viz
McKirahan
Simmons
Avilan
Sprinkle in as well one or 2 of our "excess" starters like we did with Medlen and Wood, pen should have some firepower.
Strengths t othis team. Defense, Strong up the middle at 2B, C and SS. Strong in the OF by taking our worst OF and putting thme at LF. Lots of guys who are patient and can walk. Lots of speed as well. Assume we trade Jace we have Smith, Peraza, and Heyward as all 20+ SB guys.

Your ability to pull comments out of your ass is never lacking. There hasn't been ONE piece of circumstantial evidence to support this claim. A.J. has more experience than Mac anyway. You're just sore because A.J. has been a solid player and good teammate after you thoroughly trashed his signing.Have you not been paying attention to Mac's season? Also can't deny we've been missing his leadership on the field. His ability to command pitchers is something we've been sorely lacking.

Heyward is not worth whatever someone is going to pay him. I assure you, I would rather have Justin Upton back than Jason. Jason will never reach the hype people thought he would.

What a dumb thing to say. I don't even know where to pick this apart. It's all so wrong.
He had a great year followed by a very average year where the whole lineup was striking out. Nothing shocking there. His shortcomings were more exposed because Uggla, B.J. and the bench players were so horrible. If they had played up to their billings CJ would've been fine. If...Yes, he had one incredibly lucky year in his first year as a Brave (.394 BABIP). He was terrible in the field though and always has been. Not trading him (maybe nobody offered anything for him) was an incredibly shortsighted lack of move (assuming we could have gotten something from him). However, even more baffling was signing him to an extension. It didn't take rocket science to recognize he was going to come crashing back to earth, it was mentioned in here all year long.

When you look at the 2015/16 FA class for 3B the extension makes more sense than anybody is willing to give credit for. Chris Johnson at $7.55MM is leaps and bounds better than any of the alternatives. That's not saying much, but that's saying something.
I'm confident the Braves will be able to move him eventually.
Who would pay 7.5 million for replacement level production and an asshole? I understand there aren't many free agents available, but there are certainly some options in the minors or trade route that would be better than trading for Chris Johnson.
Jason will not be worth what he is going to get in free agency. Doesn't dimish how good of a player he is and I'd love to have him back but like any free agent he will be overpaid.
