2024 Minor League Thread

22 pitchers and 8 position players make up the new top 30 although DeAvila and Dodd aren’t really prospects anymore.

No John Gill is surprising, but I like the adds of Jeremy Reyes and Ian Mejia

Big fall off of Isiah Drake and Ambioris Tavarez to not crack Top 30

A little surprised McCabe is as high as he is, but he’s just been injured not underperforming like so many others

I’d have Didier in the Top 15

It is very surprising Gil isn't on there. I get he has doesn't have much power currently, but his overall offensive skill set is still pretty impressive for an 18 year old. Combine that with good reports on his defense at SS and his reported 80 grade speed, that makes for a very intriguing prospect.

For reference on Gil's speed, see here:

Pretty much agree with all of your takes. I've been watching Gil's boxes since last year when he was in the Dominicon Summer League and his underlying ratios look good. Of course, that doesn't include assessments on bat speed or some of other deeper measurements, but looking at the other guys on the list, I can't believe he didn't merit a ranking in at least the 25 to 30 range. Benitez has been terrible and Glod not much better and Gil has outperformed them both.

With you 100% on your opinions about De Avila, Dodd, and McCabe.

I've been critical of the Braves' system, but I think their #27 ranking is a bit harsh. They are pitching heavy, but they've been able to use a lot of those guys as trading chips. They do need to do a better job developing hitters and it will be interesting to see if Alvarez and Baldwin make the next step. Curious to see where Perdomo starts the 2025 season and how he does after his injury-plagued season.

They said Ian's arm angle was going to be changed. Not really noticing it.

I do like Waldrep and loved the pick but i wish we would gave him up for Cease. I’d try to sell high on him this offseason.
