Around Baseball 2024 edition

Hey, lets play poker but I start with 1000 dollars and you start with 500 dollars. Thats the rules. And I get 50% of any money you add to your balance. If I win was I better than you or was the game just rigged in my favor? The Yankees would be the Browns of MLB if they didnt protect their advantage by rigging the rules of the game. MLB makes more money when they do well so they certainly dont want a level playing field.

This was the dream scenerio for the Yankees. I dont wanna root for either team but i’m gonna have ti pull for the Yankees. Can’t see FF win a ring outside Atlanta.

First WS appearance for them since 2009. If they have such a big advantage, they sure have done a $hit job capitalizing on it.

Exactly, thats why I said they would be the Browns of MLB if they had to play on an even playing field. I am sure they would eventually get tired of it and bring in competent people but the current group are morons.

I don't watch the playoffs if the Braves aren't involved but just looking at scores, I have been surprised to see so many blowouts this year.

I'm obviously one of the older posters and I am relatively certain that a lot of you didn't see Valenzuela pitch during this prime, but Fernandomania was a very real thing when he hit the scene. Pudgy guy with an unorthodox wind-up that didn't throw particularly hard, but his screwball was an unbelievable "out" pitch. He was a workhorse in an era of workhorses and a decent hitter for a pitcher. He wasn't really the same pitcher when the Dodgers moved on from him, but he averaged more than 200 innings per season in the 11 years he pitched for the Dodgers. He was pretty much worn out (Thanks Tommy Lasorda--one of the dumbest MFer that ever managed a baseball team) by then.
