Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Don’t we need to build manufacturing plants?

Of course we do - There will always be demand but without new housing builds which have been wild the last 10+ years we will still have lower demand.

Then the bottoming out of the CAD helps us if we sitll buy from Canada as well.

They don't ONLY hurt the country imposing them, they hurt both countries. They make the cost of doing business higher for all parties

Precisely - In this example it hurts one nation far more than the other which is kind of the point.

For China though its a completely different objective.

I do t understand why we are putting stricter penalties on Canadian tarrifs over Chinese tarrifs, if China is the threat we are trying to solve

Trump makes it look so easy.

Canada will bend the knee quickly. Mexico will be more stubborn but eventually they'll allow us to destroy the cartels.

Because part of solving hte china issue is forcing them out of Canada and Mexico.

Its a multi layered strategy.

Market reacting accordingly. Wonder how long before this gets walked back (while claiming victory).

Me thinks start buying tomorrow but save some powder.

Crypto puking too

Trump already wrecked the economy once. Why are people shocked he's speedrunning it this time.

Show me one person in MAGA world who acknowledged last week that the Saudi deal increased our trade deficit. Doesn’t even have to be Trump. And they don’t have to say it’s a bad deal or that we shouldn’t have done it. Just looking for an acknowledgment.

Sorry aces. You made a critical mistake that last week's thing was the thing, and this week's thing is also the thing, even though this week's thing contradicts last week's thing.

Don't expect an answer. They don't have one.

Chip Roy is bad you see, because he doesn't want to pass a MAGA Mike Johnson omnibus. And also, 2026 will lead to people who will stand up to massive spending bills!

Here's one of my favorite listless vessels

I wonder what his view on tarrifs is?!?!?

Oh really?

Doesn’t have to be this way. Canada was asked nicely prior.
