They don't ONLY hurt the country imposing them, they hurt both countries. They make the cost of doing business higher for all parties

We need some of them to stay to cut our trees, pick our crops, build our cars, make our clothes, etc.
Because part of solving hte china issue is forcing them out of Canada and Mexico.
Its a multi layered strategy.

Just give it time. Tariffs will lead to higher price, slower purchasing lower buyer confidence etc. Futures markets are just a warning shot and when they go down that much it's a clear sign of an issue.
