2026 ST Thread

And further, if we are going to use at least 12 different starters this year - which we surely will- then all those guys will get starts plus four or five more you haven’t even listed

I think Ritchie is pretty dang close….but your point is highly valid
but is it better for 'pretty dang close' to spend another several months crafting his skill sets in less stressful environment and not for a team that has aspirations of winning.
sure if the Braves are rebuilding and they wanna give him some starts to see how he stacks up.. great.. but for a team 'contending'... yeah, it is complete and udder failure to be at this point in the season and having your less injury prone starters already missing a majority of the season.

Again, AA refuses to take easy wins and tries to be smarter than everyone else and it is, yet again, going to blow up in his damn face. Bassitt, Littell, 30 other guys who are better than those guys listed above... EASY FUCKING WINS and yet nothing.

The one caveat is AA knows more about SS#2 and Waldrep. Hopefully he knows they will be back sooner than later. Maybe he knows they won't be back at all, and just said screw it... a #5 ain't saving this team.

The whole line on waiting on Profar appeal to address his loss should tell you the purse strings are being tightened again. It has nothing to with insider info on when Schwelly and Waldrep and Kim and Murphy are going to be ready. AA’s fault for not doing more with what he did have, but still.

I did forget about Martin Perez who is better than the Jose and cookies of the world. so I imagine He would be the 6th starter and Ritchie and DF will be in trip A where they need to be.

I couldn't care less that Ritchie lost his command for a bit. What matters is whether or not he maintained 96 on the FF and 95 on the SI.

He averaged 94.8 on the FF and 94.9 on the SI (I threw out 2 that were 89 and 90), so it's a good sign he mostly maintained the stuff through 60 pitches.

I only listened so not sure how tight the zone was.. but some of his misses were nibbles.. others where changes and curves that he lost control over... I also thought him maintaining velo on his pitches was a great sign.. He just needs to be in trip A to work on senquencing and command.

The braves don't roll that way. You learn at mlb level or you just pitch there anyway
