I think Ritchie is pretty dang close….but your point is highly valid

And further, if we are going to use at least 12 different starters this year - which we surely will- then all those guys will get starts plus four or five more you haven’t even listed

but is it better for 'pretty dang close' to spend another several months crafting his skill sets in less stressful environment and not for a team that has aspirations of winning.
sure if the Braves are rebuilding and they wanna give him some starts to see how he stacks up.. great.. but for a team 'contending'... yeah, it is complete and udder failure to be at this point in the season and having your less injury prone starters already missing a majority of the season.

Again, AA refuses to take easy wins and tries to be smarter than everyone else and it is, yet again, going to blow up in his damn face. Bassitt, Littell, 30 other guys who are better than those guys listed above... EASY FUCKING WINS and yet nothing.

The one caveat is AA knows more about SS#2 and Waldrep. Hopefully he knows they will be back sooner than later. Maybe he knows they won't be back at all, and just said screw it... a #5 ain't saving this team.
