That the public knows about so far, and it's only been what a week since they went on sale? There's going to be many more bent iPhones coming. It's a poorly designed phone, just deal with it and baby it or stay with the perfect sized older iPhones.

Bending iphones? Is this legit or overblown? Either way it's helped me decide to avoid them till further notice.

Sadly, I can't seem to get into my Verizon account via Amazon, so I'm not sure what will happen next. Other than more waiting.

It's an inherent risk with large phones. iPhone has just been having it the worst. Note bends but doesn't stay bent. Still say G3 is the way to go if you want a large screen. I am leaning towards getting the new Moto X. It's got a great size to it, and tech wise it's very nice. Only concerns are battery life and the camera. Motorola can never seem to get the camera right.

Being a photography oriented user, I'm leaning towards the S5. I don't love the design, but the durability and access to the battery and sdcard have me interested.

I like that it can theoritically be dropped in shallow water without immediate demise.

I'm not convinced there is a perfect phone on any platform.

The Moto x looks interesting but the camera and battery would be a huge issue for me. Either need a great battery or an interchangeable battery I can get to myself.

To be fair, just about any phone would be an upgrade over my 4s. Been a damn sturdy phone, just a bit dated at this point.

Mossy, if your 4S is clean and the screen isn't cracked you can get $200 for it if you upgrade to the 6 at most carriers. The 16gig, iPhone 6 would be free in that deal. You shouldn't pass that up

Or he can go to best buy get 125 dollar trade in or so, and get the GS5, G3, and a few accessories cause they can price match amazon who have them for 89.99 and 99.99 respectively. iPhones have great trade ins. THat' sthe best part about owning one, they retain their value extremely well unlike Android devices.

Sadly I live 2 hours from the nearest Best Buy. Walmart is selling the s5 for $100 which is actually pretty good. I'll have a new one in a few weeks I think.

The whole 'bendable iPhone 6 plus' is a well played PR move by Google. Unfortunately in today's age when you shoot video you might want to make sure the time on the phone always lines up or its pretty evident that things are staged.

Good move by Google to put a staged video of a bending iPhone on the front page of YouTube and let it go viral and have people fall for the video and make people question buying the product like Mossy and others have.

I saw a story the other day where iPhone users fell for the microwave charging technology… Some scammers made an ad saying the new iOS8 could be charged in the microwave using "wave technology"… needless to say, the moronic sheep were upset when their phones were on fire.

Staples can price match Amazon and I think it's about 80 bucks for a working iPhone 4s so you could get the S5 for basically for free. you have Verizon if I recall correctly.

I had no idea they even did phones. Thanks for the info!

So they assess the phones value on the spot and give the discount? Or does Verizon send a gift card after receiving the device?

That particular store may not, but most staples do. They would assess it on the spot, basically as long as it turns on and there's no cracks on it you'll get max value. They'll take it right off the cost of the phone and if you have a balance it's in a Staples rewards card. Did it for my girlfriend, they ran a promo last month where you traded it any smartphone for an S5, S4 or 5S and you got a 100. She wanted a 5S so she traded her old phone towards it. She's one of the people who doesn't like the growing screen trend and it was that or have to travel quite some distance to a best buy to get the custom designed Moto X.

BTW I'm not one who makes a big deal from "bendgate" (why does everything have to end in gate? Can't people be more creative? Like Bendghazi? Or do we still use an event that happened like 40 years ago as the naming standard for controversies), as I see it big phones have a massive issue with bending naturally, especially the thinner they are (like the HTC) but the Apple reaction to it has proven to backfire massively. First it was the video was a fake, then they released the uncut version, now there are teenagers going around to Apple stores and bending iPhones in store. Apple has a full blown fiasco because they didn't handle it properly. I'm not sure what the right way to handle it is. But to say it only happened to a few people is not the way to go. Worse than the antenna issue with the iPhone 4 handling.
