Braves Trade Deadline Rumors

Can't say I'd be too broken up about not getting Peavy. Maybe the Peavy of 5-6 years ago. Would like to see us at least kick the tires on Lohse though,

Rang er s might trade nathan. Wonder if hed be up to pitching the 8th.

Fwiw, red sox fan I know texted me saying peavy to the sox is what hes hearing. He lives in boston bit I think hes just playing.

What do you guys think of Phil Hughes?

He has been good away from Yankee Stadium with a 3.02ERA, 1.21WHIP and .235BAA. Half the HR rate as well.

3.98ERA, 1.23WHIP and .241BAA career away from home as well with half the HR's(71/35) allowed for his career. Turner Field could do him well.

He is a free agent at the end of the year and is 28 years old

I really dont want to trade prospects for marginal upgrades to the rotation. Imagine if we still had Harrison Feliz and Locke. Just try to get a reliever and go with what we got

Gotta tweak you a bit. If we still had Feliz and Harrison, there would be nowhere to sit in the trainer's room.

If we trade for anything, it should be for another relief arm and a better back-up IF than Janish.

Which is probably exactly what they're going to do, a lefty reliever and lefty bat for the bench. Although the bench help might not come until August.

Yeah I have thought about him but you have to ask yourself "Is he an upgrade?" I can see where one would say he is.

As far as Nathan goes the Rangers are looking for bat in return. Odds are the braves don't match up well.

If the Yanks take back Maholm why not Hughes

The big draw in regards to trading for Peavy was that we wouldn't cost as much in prospects due to his high salary. If that's not the case then I agree that we need to move on and just go with what we have. I would love to have him.

There is also a decent chance that we could trade for Peavy after the deadline. I think we might be the first team to claim him. If my understanding is correct then He has to go through the NL first. I don't know what team would claim him before we would if that's the case. Maybe the Dodgers, but do they need him?

Phil hughes sucks ballz. Better off calling up gilly. Unless you think the ol chanhe of scenery myth.

Gattis for joe nathan. Get er done.
