I agree. Imagine if the Cubs then went out and signed Heyward. Their starting position players would be Montero, Rizzo, Zobrist, Bryant, Russell, Schwarber, Inciarte, Heyward. Easily the best young lineup in the game. A rotation of Arrieta, Lester, Teheran, Lackey and some guy pulled from the Wrigley stands is outstanding as well.

They could be. They're probably first going to see what they get back from Neil Walker and Mark Melancon. Depending on what they receive back we might be able to pry away Marte.

um, I think I agree with you. I have no interest in Minor.. if a 'veteran' starter is needed, then take a flier on Fister. you know someone who didn't have shoulder surgery and is able to throw off a mound by now..

because he hasn't been bad his whole career. Pre-surgery he was emerging as one of the best LHP in the NL.
He might be toast, but I always liked Minor. At the very least, if he sucks we lose out on a couple million bucks. Big deal.

I don't want Minor back but to say he was bad for most of his career is flat out wrong. When healthy he was widely considered as one of the big up and comers in the Majors.

I would actually be for sending them a decent arm if they trumped the return back. I don't think anyone wants that guy anywhere near their clubhouse and that contract.
