HRC

You know the L philosophy on all of it.
A two fold answer. Yes I do. They are (R) that can't win (R) primaries and believe in top to bottom politics. Which have been proven over and over since 1980 to be an abject failure

Let the private sector or local governments handle it.
I go back to Hurricane Sandy or the wildfires in California. Or the potholes in the streets

The libertarians want to grow our economy while staying out of your bedroom.
"Grow our economy? That is a rather vague statement

The libertarian ideas - fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and anti-interventionist foreign policy - are what mainstream Americans coincide with.
Again, "a chicken in every pot" politics, Something for everyone. Free for some. Others not so much. -- again a trickle down solutions

The libertarian has two 2-term former governors who were republicans in overwhelmingly blue states.
20 years ago. Let's call them the George Foremans of politics

The libertarian ticket has had more success in government, and arguably, more success in business than the R or D tickets.
not sure what that means

But... damn it. They have an (L) next to their name so they can't win!
They can't win because they have no base to govern. Asking you again, who is running as a Libertarian for anything form Dog Catcher to US Senator ?

Any thoughts on foundational government ?

You don't seem to have a grasp at all on the libertarian philosophy.

The constitution is meant to limit the power and scale of government.

Our current legislatures do the opposite.

I thought the constitution defined the power, scale and shape of government.
Leaving notions of limits and expansions to interpretation

Any thoughts on foundational government ?

You make quips about points that have nothing to do with the point itself. It is so useless debating with you.

I am curious though that you said we've had libertarian government since the 1980s.. that is laughably stupid. Please expand

If Republicans were smart, they would be quoting over and over again Comey's admonishments of Clinton. Except, they've nominated a careless and reckless buffoon and will likely lose the election because of it.

On what planet and in what way is Hillary Clinton even remotely conservative?

1. connection to big money/power brokers

2. hawkish with regards to foreign policy and military usage

3. pro-death penalty

4. belief in the status quo

If not for Bernie, she would not be flirting with debt-free college. And husband Bill was far more fiscally conservative than the R presidents before or after him. A good argument can be made that under the D costumes that the Clintons wear so well, they are actually common sense, moderate Republicans who do just enough liberal programs to keep the Ds satisfied.

Moderate Democrat or "moderate" Republican by today's standards would be more accurate I suppose. I believe Sturg and a few others would dispute the "conservative" label.

I think that's what we'll see. Comey's comments were direct and damning, but there is so much fatigue around the bashing of Clinton that she'll likely survive this. Not that she'll necessarily win in November, but I think we can count on Trump to overplay his hand here.

That's the government for you. Old, inefficient, ineffective, incompetent dinosaurs.

you again make Julio's point

Paul Ryan says two House committees are investigating the investigation of Hillary's emails. Also won't rule out special prosecutor

I'm not sure how one and two are unique to conservatism, especially the first one...

Interesting point:

Imagine a situation in which the Obama Justice Department investigates major conservative activists such as the Koch brothers for possibly violating the law, but finding no reason to bring charges, the attorney general holds a news conference to outline all of the ways in which she finds their conduct deplorable. A Republican attorney general declining to bring charges against union officials but publicly excoriating their behavior would be similarly objectionable.

Do you think that Hillary didn't do anything wrong or that she just didn't get any charges brought up against her?

Perhaps someone should fix federal IT and rampant overclassification?
