Thread for Games ...

We won't be signing any big-time FA pitchers. If we go after one, it will be via trade, but we value our prospects too much to pull off a deal for an ace.

Right, I don't think I said anything about FA pitchers. If we need to sign any from next year on, then this rebuild has failed.

I don't think a team with our payroll can afford to get a big time pitcher for 4+ years. I can see us going big for a hitter, but I probably more likely see us giving a 2 year deal with option for third to an expensive pitcher. That is if we're contenders and the selling point for the pitcher is he can spend 1-2 years and help get us a championship.

Trade for Archer, sign Machado.

Problem solved.

I'm not watching the game but the feed shows 3 infield hits in 2 innings

I think he's Lester. I think one day he'll just get it

It's like people never read the spring training stats analysis that the only things that are even slightly relevant are walks and strikeouts.

Even so, it's a little depressing to make a cursory look at the box and see the numbers. I did quickly look for the BB column, though. Not as depressing for either Newk or Wisler.

Think it's time for the Braves to try Camargo out in outfield and move him around. His bat seems very alive and we know what a gun he has for an arm.

I was at the last two games and was very impressed with Camargo. Smooth swing from both sides with pop in his bat. He played second, third, and short in the field and handled himself very well. His confident attitude says "I'm here!" He looks like he can't wait for the next opportunity.

I'm not a big camargo guy but I don't see why he wouldn't be at least as good a hitter as chase. Might be as good as Peterson. Maybe the question is play him at ss for trade bait vs super subbing him.

If we are going to do something stupid like 8 pen pieces then we need everyone to be versatile

No question he can be a valuable piece with his versatility, especially if the bat comes on. But I'd rather leave him in Gwinnett for the year to keep playing every day rather than just sit on our bench in Atlanta.

I couldn't believe we didn't get a semi decent offer for Camargo over the past year or so with the injuries that hit SS hard last year.

We must think something decent of him. I know he can pick it and sling it, but the bat having life would be a nice development. He could back up CF easily you would think with some OF work.

I don't know anything about this kid everyone is yapping about now... can someone point me to a link or something for a writeup?
