Would be awesome if the Red Sox announcers knew there was a game on.![]()
So spring training stats matter for Heyward but not for Kemp?
Acuña breaks up the no hitter with an oppo single.
Chaz Roe's day to get rocked.
If there is one thing I am not worried about its stolen bases. More concerned with the giving up of hits, walks, and home runs.
Roe will be a specialist out of pen. So again not horrible worried yet. But yeah. 2 in a row sucks.
Kemp hit 4 more homers last year than Heywood has in the last 3 total. Kemp had 108 RBI last year, Heywood 109 in the last 2 seasons combined. Heywood had something like the 5,750th worst offensive season for a player who qualified for the batting title out of 5,871. So yeah, Kemp isnt cause for concern. Melvin Heywood having 0 hits in spring training is a cause for concern.
Weigel!
Actually neither of them matter. Spring training stats have no correlation to what is done during the season.
Didn't the Red Sox announcers say that Weigel is our 9th best prospect? Is this true? I realize all his problems today weren't his fault but still he was up in the zone and kind of all over the place. Acuna looked great, Folty looked OK, considering. I realize I am not nearly as familiar with all our guys as you guys are, but I saw a LOT of Atlanta players out there today whom I have never even heard of.
I said it was cause for concern, not that it matters.
