For Sale that is.
Gattis for Sale crossed my mind too. I think we would have to chip in a bit more but not a lot more.

It will be an interesting off season for sure. I am glad its not me making these big calls.

The only really tough call is at catcher. I think this is the offseason Wren focuses on retention more than acquisition. He has to get Jason and Freddie under contract.
Still don't get why everyone thinks its a smart idea to lock up a 30+ year old catcher to a big deal.
I've looked at the aging curve of catchers who are comparable to McCann at this point in his career. The risk of a big drop-off in performance for players of that type comes mostly at ages 33 or 34. McCann is 29. I would offer him to a four year deal with an option. This would cover ages 30-33 with the option for his age 34 season. There is risk in any contract, but I don't think the risks from that type of contract are unduly high. Of course, sometimes things go badly (see Dan Uggla). But you have to base these decisions on the whole range of probabilities rather than just the worst case scenario.
Sadly, I think Medlen is traded and Garcia is brought back. Garcia will be someone to keep the seat warm until one of our younger guys step up.
If we could get a stud prospect or two for Medlen I wouldn't be all that upset but it would suck to see him go be a successful pitcher elsewhere.
What are we aiming for in a trade of Meds? Prospects? BP arms? Another starter? A hitter or 3b? It is hard to put together at this point.

Garcia is unlikely to be brought back imo. I believe the Braves are capable of stepping back and looking at his broader body of work over the past two or three years and drawing the right conclusion. With the kind of pitching depth we have, there is simply no need for someone like him.
Only way I see Medlen traded is if we keep Mac to clear some funds.
