Affordable Care Act

actually the question is why did you cherry pick the statement --- leaving out the last sentence?
Kinda like starting the alphabet at G and ending it at Q.

That is a Brietbart trick -- but, I know no one here reads Brietbart or listens to Erickson ---

Face the fact --
ACA is here to stay until common sense prevails and it morphs into Medicare for All --- a single payer socialist Western European Health Care System.
Like they have in France
so opponents would be wise to learn about it. What it does and doesn't. how they can use it to make their lives better.
Like they have in France

Kinda like last year at this time you were told Obama would win and Romney had not a prayer. But, "Drudge says....."
man that was fun

You didn't answer my questions.

So government has a hard time doing big things well...

no it doesn't really

in the past when both sides would actually work together to have things work, it worked fine

i mean ****, going to the moon is a HUGE thing and we did it pretty ****ing well

it is hard to do anything when all you have is each side waste time and money to try to point a finger at the other side to say "see, they can't do anything"

Don't backpeddle too fast...

First, no one was paying higher premiums or else they " didn't understand ".

Then it was "the employers screwing everyone"

After that it was "ok there will be pockets of the country with higher premiums"

Then it was "no one is getting cancelled other than anecdotal stories"

Then it was "you can keep your plan and doctor" and we didn't understand the context of that.

Then it was a post trying to help people navigate all these things that have been forced on the population that are all true than you denied.

Good stuff .

1st) those "things" have been law for 3 years!! and yes, if you are just learning about the implications -- you don't understand. Or, lazy or disingenuous - one?

then) actually it has been public record many companies (PapaJohns etc) adopted a policy of shorting employees of promised benefits. Not "....everyone"

after that) again it has been law for over three years

then) they are still anecdotal stories of people that bought junk policies - again the law has stipulated minimums for 3 years

then) "you can ..." provided your policy meets the minimums

then it was...) I 've been posting articles to help navigate the system for those either ignorant of the workings google or those without knowledge of where to find help
For over a month now . Forced on? I voted for these changes -- and, We won the elections.. Couple 3 times.

Perhaps a basic knowledge of how our governmental system enacts laws and policies would help you more than how to navigate changes in health insurance??? After all, you can cure most sickness' with treatment or medicines but not stubborn obstanance

then) "you can ..." provided your policy meets the minimums

hmmm, I guess you don't understand the complaints. The minimum requirements were never explained, and the minimum requirements are really absured, and the minimum requirements are raising premiums, which kinda contradicts the whole "affordable" thing, no?

But you're right - it's been law for 3 years so we should have been fine with it. We all should have read the bill because the folks in congress wouldn't. "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it"

Face the fact --

1) ACA is here to stay until common sense prevails

2) and it morphs into Medicare for All --- a single payer socialist Western European Health Care System.

1) Spot on!

2) And then you take a pretty sharp left turn...

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - About 280,000 Kentuckians will have to give up their current insurance policies in the months ahead and enroll in alternatives that comply with the federal Affordable Care Act.

Kentucky Department of Insurance spokeswoman Ronda Sloan said individual policies for about 130,000 people will be discontinued, as will small group policies for about 150,000 more.

Sloan said people affected will receive discontinuation letters when their policies come up for renewal. She said they will be transitioned into new polices that comply with the health care law.

If you like your plan, you can keep it

My wife finally used her insurance the other day. Consultation with a gyno was $300...Ultrasound was $255...doppler evaluation was $400.

Her HRA was $750...so that was used up. Her deductible was $1000 so she had to pay out of pocket about $200.

She is supposed to get blood work done..which totals about $2200.

So she has another $800 to pay out of pocket before the insurance will cover the remainder 80%.

Obviously thats not really affordable for something that isnt life or death...so it will be put on the shelf until she is covered under my insurance in December.

Some companies offer excellent health care for very affordable rates....some companies do not care about their employees. Difference between our two employers is obvious in the health care they provide.

Bottom line is the bottom line. Why can 1 employer offer this insurance, for this rate...but company 2 will refuse.

The problem is much bigger than A and B....its A thru Z. But "greedy" employers do not take care of their employees. I hate them.

Well it certainly is having a hard time doing this well. Probably a few other big things it isn't that great on - like war for instance.

Employers who offer health insurance is doing it as a pure benefit. If you don't like it, you don't have to enroll. It is her choice to work there.

we do war pretty well

occupation on the other hand

and if people would work together to make this work, it would work i would be willing to bet. instead you have one side that is trying to screw it up even though it was their original plan

1000 dollar deductible is pretty reasonable. They don't get much lower. I think you meant HSA? if so, that money goes toward the deductible in GA.

In this case, the laws, as written, make it extremely difficult to do things well. Government can't leverage its full buying power. Government must use multiple contractors (rather than just going to, say, Oracle or IBM) to prevent overcharges (How? God knows.), and none can really be in charge, meaning no expert project managers with oversight authority. It's a miracle it works at all.

Clearly republican congressmen and women should have helped program the website properly.

As a cynic who hates both sides, I think constantly attacking the website problems is a little petty and low - even for republicans.
The actual law itself has questions that can and should be raised. There are bigger problems (potentially) than the website.

I don't think we do war itself all that well...

But, let's just consider the this website fiasco - had plenty of money, plenty of time, and needed no "working together" of politicians and they screwed it up.
