Well. this is a kick in the head. First, Braves just cannot be throwing that much money at a 40+ year old pitcher. As said above, he could eat a ton of innings or fall apart. Second, so much for any more hometown stuff; players today will seek the best deal, period. Huddy took less to stay in prior years but I guess the kids' college funds needed a little more padding. Third, it sucks that the last pitch we saw of him as a Brave was when he broke his ankle; I was sure he wouldn't want to end his Braves career like that. Guess dollars and years speak louder.
Last, the FO should look for another veteran starter to eat innings and advise the young arms; bet they'll grab some chump not worth a bag of balls instead of anyone to excite the fanbase. Hope I'm wrong.
