We know AA works in silence. I'm confident AA is working on something. We will have a very good 1B. I just want it to be Freddie Freeman.

Olson is an option, Freeman is the option.

Kind of a weird signing imo. I get wanting depth, but with Langliers and Contreras covering AAA and have 2 MLB catchers I don’t see the need. Unless they want to carry 3 on the MLB roster

Or maybe with all the doubleheaders incoming, they want to carry 3 during some parts of the season rather than have a position player be an emergency catcher (I assume it would be Riley). Also, D'Arnaud is older and might get injured, so if Lango does come up and Contreras is traded it isn't the worst to have some depth. Maybe the FO isn't that comfortable with Contreras defense yet and feels he hasn't improve enough.

With the season now beginning in 25 days with spring training in 4, I was hoping to see a hotter stove. The Freeman situation, albeit tricky, is holding up many aspects for the Braves (i.e. Matt Olson, #4 SP, possible OF help) due to money and resources.

Is Freeman also holding up Correa and/or Story from signing as well? I wouldn't think so, but it'd be nice if these top FA would sign, so that would create a domino effect with some of the other free agents signing with teams, so teams would be near opening day competed.

Have a feeling the removal of the shift has changed the calculus on player value. Will be interesting to see if left handed sluggers age better moving forward.

I was thinking the same. With spring training already shortened, I would have figured players would have wanted to be at camp as soon as possible, or else risk being behind everyone else at the start of spring training. At this point, you have to figure Freeman is aware of the offers out there for him. Not sure what could be holding this up. Waiting for the Braves to give more?

I’m sure he has everybody’s offers by now. I wouldn’t expect there to be a bidding war. Weird nothing has happened. We’ve heard nothing on Correa and Story.
